FWLIW, Alan Griffin is playing on the Lakers summer league team. He didn't play 1st game and scored 3 pts playing 4 mins in 2nd game.

Ayo is just not in the right mindset today. He's had lots of looks today and not hitting. I know he can do it. He needs to remember there's a chip on his shoulder.

Watching summer league, Kofi would completely dominate this.

We lucked out on his return...he could be playing G team/2 way this year.

Ayo not playing impactful, believe he needs structurethat the summer league lacks.

Yeah, in past games he didn't get chances to shoot. This game he really did. He had some completely open shots. I know he's under a lot of pressure. I'm really rooting for him. He just needs to make the team and get a contract. He's got to show the Bulls those flashes of brilliance, even if he needs some development.

The Bulls looked terrible today. Yao’s shot wasn’t falling, but I think he had a pretty good game. His defense was good and he made a lot of good passes. Nobody could get their shot going. I don’t like the way they play Ayo on offense. I would like to see him play more of the 1 or 2, but they won’t listen to me…

Too bad Patrick Williams doesn't operate out of the pick and roll as that makes it hard for Ayo to develop chemistry with him. In this offense catch and shoot threes are needed from Ayo and so far he is not up to the task, but I think he will get there.

2 yr $2.48 mil guaranteed. It appears that he got the shorter contract according to the article compared to a 3 or 4 year contract they also had available for the other draft pick, Marko Simonovic.

I’d have been surprised if they didn’t sign ayo. You love to see it!

Shoot! 2 million dollars! I'd take that in a heart beat!
Sure, but in NBA terms it's chump change. In fact, it appears that if you take the league minimum for a first year player, and add the league minimum for a second year player, you get right around what Ayo is making over his two years.

Minimum or not, it’s guaranteed, and that can’t be said for a decent amount of second rounders.

For sure. Just still a shame he slipped out of the first round, and that the Bulls prioritized Simonovic for the longer term deal.
Makes sense from Bulls perspective. Lauri wants out and that is a position of greater need for them. 21-year old 7 footer vs. 6’5” combo guard where you have a lot of depth. 2.5M guaranteed for 2 years ain’t a bad starting place. Happy for him!
