Hmmm. Questioning your fandom if you couldn't stay for Butkus' jersey being retired at halftime.I was at the game in 1986 where we lost 59-14. I left when it was 28-0 (first quarter).
Watched that game on TV, and Paul Hornung did the commentary. He said “it’s men against boys” and I sure didn’t like that. I seem to recall Illini had more time of possession, because Nebraska scored so quickly. Those days are over.I stayed until the half, maybe not even that long. Walked across the street to Scott Hall and watched the rest on TV with a friend. It was such a beat down. That was a rough season. About the only bright spot was upsetting a ranked Iowa team.
Only undefeated team in all of college football! We are currently #1 in the Big Ten standings
I think I saw Tweet he was hurt, but didn’t elaborate on what type. Can’t remember whose tweet it was.Its probably somewhere in one of the pregame, game or post-game threads, but was Brian Hightower hurt today? I remember seeing something that Nebraska had posted saying he was out, and he obviously didn't play today. But I didn't hear anything referring to him in the broadcast and, again, haven't seen it in any of the Loyalty posts. Great win....lots of big mistakes by Nebraska but we'll certainly take it. Heaven knows we've given away enough games with big mistakes over the years. Lots of growing to do, though. Hope Brandon is not out for long but Artur sure picked it up in relief. Also hope Calvin Hart's injury is not serious......man was he huge today or what!
Based on everything we saw I would be shocked if he doesn't.Hoping Peters doesn’t have broken collarbone
And I gotta say, I was a big time skeptic of the Tony Petersen hire, and you don't totally throw that out the window after one game, but he painted the dang Mona Lisa on that first drive out of the half, which I think was the defining sequence of the game.
The commissioner might change the rule.We are currently #1 in the Big Ten standings

If so Is that recoverable or out for season?Based on everything we saw I would be shocked if he doesn't.
Had to suffer through that one in person fall of my senior year. Quite the rapid tumble from the highs of the '83 season...And I remember the Illini loss to Nebraska in 1985 52-25. Remember the score from the palindrome. They were so much faster and bigger than we were. The score made it seem we competed. We did not. So nice to just win. Go Illini! We are entering a new era.

He does have a very, how shall I say it diplomatically, punchable face.LET'S GOOOOOO!
Frost is very hateable. Good riddance!
Unfortunately if scapula it is career ending. Best timeline to heal would be 6 weeks. And no throwing in the meantime. If so Is that recoverable or out for season?
If I ever think of going to a week 0 game again slap some sense into me. August is way too hot to be at a football game with no shade. Saw many people suffering from heat stroke.
For some reason I was very excited we hired him. I know he flamed out at Arkansas, but when driven people fail, they learn and improve. So far, it looks like he’s made some strides. So are we all happy with the Bret Bielema hire now?
I think his best offseason move was bringing in Artur S. What a luxury to have an experienced big ten QB on the sideline to step in like that.
I admit to being pleasantly- hugely- surprised by both.So are we all happy with the Bret Bielema hire now?
