So are we all happy with the Bret Bielema hire now?

I think his best offseason move was bringing in Artur S. What a luxury to have an experienced big ten QB on the sideline to step in like that.
I will eat crow. I didn’t want him AT ALL at first because my friends from UW hated him and dissed him so much because he left them, and they thought he was not a nice person. Turns out that they were all mad because Illinois hired their winner. I had no idea what to think about Art S. Turns out that he’s pretty capable, too.

Liquid hydration, hydration, hydration.
They were running out of water and beer at the concession stands! People were forming huge lines to refill water bottles from the fountains. The east side stands started full and were about half that by the end of the game. It was brutal but we stuck it out to the end! Was nice to see the misery pay off with a W!

And to give BB due credit....he's all but admitted his change as a person post kids. I love a comeback.

Same here. Work in the Madison area, live in Lake County. Wisconsin fans will see how good their current HC is this year with Alvarez retiring. BBs personality and savvy is a great fit for our situation. Cannot wait to ascend back to play WI toe-to-toe year in and out.

I was pretty meh about the Bielema hire at first, but he slowly grew on me over the subsequent months, from bringing in a solid staff to winning over the super seniors to his smart pressers.
Plus, he really looks, talks and acts like an Illinois guy. Put a seed co. cap on him and he'd look like every other farmer in the central Ill town I grew up in.

And I gotta say, I was a big time skeptic of the Tony Petersen hire, and you don't totally throw that out the window after one game, but he painted the dang Mona Lisa on that first drive out of the half, which I think was the defining sequence of the game.
After the first couple drives I was cursing the day he was born, but it didn't take long after that to see the beauty of his game plan

Great win. For those of us in Chgo area, sad that post game show on radio was cut for some stupid show about retirement planning.

And can we all just go ahead and agree right now that those two punts in the first half...and the Sitkowski toss into Deuce's cereal box...are three of the Top 10 plays we will see all season?
I know the offense picked it up as the game went on, and the defense was phenomenal (given the heat and probably a lot of pressure), but to me, this game is entirely different if we don't have Blake "The Leg" Hayes as our punter!
