Today was cutdown day in the NFL. Here's some of the more notable names that the Bears cut (and remember some of these guys may end up on the practice squad):

-Arlington Hambright (7th round pick last year)
-James Vaughters
-Artie Burns
-Marqui Christian
-Desmond Trufant (off-season signing from the Lions who had been on personal leave the better part of the last two weeks after his father passed)
-Dazz Newsome (one of 3 6th round picks this year)
-Ryan Nall
-Riley Ridley
-Thomas Graham Jr. (another 6th round pick this year)
-Artavis Pierce

In addition, Tarik Cohen was placed on the PUP list which means he can't return until the Week 7 game at Tampa at the earliest.

Sean Payton said today that Saints won't be back in New Orleans for at least a month and that for the time being the team will practice in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. For this week, they're using AT&T Stadium as a practice facility. Going forward, they may use that facility or the football facilities at TCU and SMU as practice facilities. Saints owner Gayle Benson chartered two planes to Dallas over the weekend with players and their families and is currently picking up the tab for hotels and meals.

As far as where they'll play their Week 1 home opener vs. the Packers, that's still up in the air. AT&T Stadium is out as an option, even though the Cowboys will be on the road, as there is a concert scheduled there for the Wednesday after the game and the contract requires that set up for the concert begin a few days beforehand. The NFL wants the game to be held in an NFL stadium (I'd assume due to need for communication with New York) which means the Alamodome is out as an option (plus UTSA has a game there the night before so it'd be a tough turnaround to get the venue ready for an NFL game the next day). Among the possible venues that could be available for a game that Sunday include Jacksonville, Miami, Seattle, Denver, San Francisco, and Arizona.

I'm still predicting 7-10 but that may be optimistic. Bears D might get shredded against the Rams but I think the biggest problem is going to be scoring points.

I have a hard time seeing them winning more than 7.

I think Nagy gets canned in Jan.
Pace too, as you cant let him hire the next coach .

I'm still thinking Nagy and Pace were assured of multi-year job security when they were allowed to screw up the whole Trubisky thing, cut him, and trade up to draft another qb at no. 10. No way are they allowed to do that if this year is do or die for them.

there is a crappy win-loss number that gets them canned if that bad,

is 6-11 enough ? I dont know.

Saints-Packers Week 1 game moved to Jacksonville. Jaguars are at Houston Week 1 so their stadium is available. Saints don't have another home game until Week 4 which they could also play in Jacksonville as well as the Jags play a Thursday night game that week at Cincinnati.

I still think they have job security but perhaps something like 2 or 3 wins makes ownership throw up their hands and fire them.
