Georgia Southern reportedly parting ways with head coach Chad Lunsford:

While the team has lost their last 3 games this season, they have gone to bowl games the last 3 years.
GSU is a program that has a strong history and high hopes for itself. They moved from FCS (with 6 National Championships between 1985 to 2000) to FBS in 2014, and it wouldn't surprise me if they weren't lobbying to move to a more prominent conference, and from what I hear from a LOT of GSU fans/alums, Lunsford's not viewed as a guy who can get them there. Many of those alums long to get Jeff Monken back, who go them to 3 straight FCS Semis.

I also read that they're seeing other Sun Belt schools like Coastal Carolina and Louisiana on the rise and think that they should be on that same level.

All these high profile job openings reinforces in my mind cutting ties with Lovie and getting BB last off-season was the right move. We could have probably still got BB but having to wait and compete with USC, LSU, and then the schools that lose their head coaches to them.

Sitting here trying to get work done on a Monday, Orgeron's lack of professionalism is making motivation very difficult. In the back of my mind a little voice is saying "hey man, it's literally impossible for you to be a worse employee than Ed Orgeron, so don't beat youself up for the 2 hours you just spent on your phone."

Washington State head coach Nick Rolovich, along with several assistants, has been fired with cause for failing to comply with Washington's covid vaccine mandate. Rolovich had sought but was denied a religious exemption. The Washington state mandate required a covid vaccination by October 18th if they wished to continue working. Washington State itself had a panel, that included both faculty and staff, that reviewed the exemption requests and consisted of those with expertise in religions, diverse backgrounds, and legal accommodations. All the personally identifiable information on all request forms done through the university were removed so that there would be no favoritism shown towards any one person.

That'll be for cause too.

Man, millions of dollars, I dunno.

Rolovich in the process of suing Washington State for illegal termination, claiming in part "discriminatory and vindictive behavior" by the school's AD. Rolovich's attorney is claiming the AD determined he wanted the coach fired as far back as April.
