Eh, this will be a cakewalk. 
Man, you're telling me. My wife's an ND alum. I feel like this is going to be her long awaited payback for me rooting for Bama in the 2013 NC.
Worse for me. My daughter was a swimmer at ND. My other daughter married an ND alum from Goshen, about 30 miles away where he was a basketball player...6'8". They have been with us since Wed. but....fortunately for me... leaving Sunday so I will not have to be the poor stepchild Mon. night.
However, together we should enjoy and Irish victory on Sat. evening....even though, like the Illini cagers, even that team will likely make a poor Stanford team look good to the buzzer.
Norte Dame isn’t a particularly great team. We SHOULD beat them. But our performances as of late don’t inspire tons of confidence. Fingers crossed this is the game where our guys wake up.
We have 5 players who have played in the first 6 games. They are Plummer, Hawkins, Verdonk, Payne, and Williams. Only two of these players have had any Illini playing time previously. We have been extremely lucky in the past two years with injuries and sicknesses. Hope this is just a short term problem but it does make a coach earn his bucks.

Anyone else think Opie aka Luke was given all of the video footage of one Lucas Johnson and told this is your homework project? His whole persona reminds me of Lucas right down to his pushing and shoving under the basket. Swear they could have called 4-5 fouls easily last night. I like this kid alot!
This should be a “get it to Kofi every time down the floor” type game- we have nothing else going on right now and no time to build chemistry

All teams are planning for this. Kofi will also wear down as he plays against multiple 6-10/260lbs players and triple teams. Rio Grande had 6-7/210 lbs players guarding him.
Kofi needs his touches but at the same time the othet 4 on the court need to score and pose a threat. It might mean CH, Hutch, Damonte shooting the open 3. Boss-man and Payne have to come in and give quality minutes.

With that said.............
Curbelo and Frazier have both spent considerable time on the court, and neither would be anywhere close to even 4th team All Big Ten performers if the voting were conducted today. Sure, we've missed key players in multiple games --- but we've also played horribly (i.e. leading the Big10 in turnovers per game, I believe?)
The good news, you ask? We have ample room for improvement!

Oh wow, think we were #14 in KenPom before last night's win. Torvik now has us at #25 too.
Bet we're going to have a lot of new converts to the AP poll on here, now that they have us higher than KenPom and Torvik.
