9 out of 13 AZ players are freshmen.
Their website shows 6 “true” freshmen as in first year players and none of them are important rotation players (and not even sure all are scholarship players). The number you’re citing likely includes a large number of “freshmen” who played during Covid year.

I think I’d spill my wine if I tried that workout.

And speaking of that, need to head down stairs soon to open up something ahead of time.

I'm worried about being able to watch the game (wish I had just sucked it up and bought tickets). I have sling which doesn't carry Fox here and a broadcast antenna with questionable reception for Fox as well. I've been looking but haven't come up with any other sure fire ways to get the game. Any suggestions?
You can do a 7 day trial of Fubo it carries Fox

I have the exact same problem here in NC. I am just hoping that Fox shows up well on my regular broadcast today. Generally only able to get two prime tv stations at a time. Also hoping the same for Steph Curry and the Warriors' game tonight, lol.

Prepare yourselves for half of the broadcast to be dedicated to Arizona's travel adventures.....

Que Brian and Deon on the radio!
I have little sympathy for those that complain about the TV announcers when Dan the MAN provides a radio feed to the best announcers in college BB ....and they are HOMERS big time , and i like that a lot........I really really do..................

What Dan posts is McColley's recording of the press conference. The video that UI puts out has much better audio.
And video. And angle, usually. It isn't the first out of the gate, but who cares. RC has been doing this stuff for quite a while now, but his effort is not increasing.

From the original "Fever Pitch" film starring Colin Firth as an Arsenal fan:

Fan 1: What about last season?
Fan 2: What about it?
Fan 1: They were rubbish. They were f---ing rubbish.
Fan 2: They weren't that bad.
Fan 1: They were f---ing rubbish last year. And they were f---ing rubbish the year before. And I don't care if they are top of the League, they'll be f---ing rubbish this year, too. And next year. And the year after that. I'm not joking.
Fan 2: I don't know why you come, Frank. Honest I don't.
Fan 1: Well, you live in hope, don't you?
The Fever Pitch book was great.

My wife is off on a ladies weekend and she is actually disappointed that she will miss the game. Learning how to be a real fan in her 60s. She once asked me about 15 years ago (my 2nd wife) how I could get so excited about a game.

Looking forward to the game!

I dont understand how line has gone to Arizona-2.5. The odds makers think very highly of Arizona and/or someone is not playing for us that we expect to play outside of hutch and curbelo
AZ is undefeated, #9 on KenPom, incredibly athletic, and really, really good. (We've lost to lowly rated Cincy and Marquette).

As long as Bill Walton isn’t doing color I can take anything.

Just to clarify, here are the rotation players for Arizona and how long in school. The star indicates those that because of Covid and/or RS are still “freshmen.” They are younger than Illini, but not as bad as the listed number of “freshmen” would indicate.

Maturin — Soph*
A. Tubelis — Soph*
Koloko — Junior/Soph
Kriisa — Soph*
Terry — Soph*

Kier — transfer/6th year
Ballo — Junior*
Larsson — Soph*
Aiken — transfer/RS Junior

Just got off the phone with an Arizona classmate/teammate of mine who moved back to Tucson over a decade ago. Talk around Tucson is that the Illini will win due to home court.

However, neither of us see it that way due to two things. Pace of play will be forced by the Cats and the Illini insistence on sloppy ball handling and passing will lead to another 20 turnovers in that column and an Arizona win in double figures.

Yet, for me, there always exists the possibility that a light will go on and Illini players will realize that there is a good reason that thousands of their fans, who want them to succeed, continue to cry at the top of their lungs to "stop the damn turnovers". If we can keep them to 10 or less while Kofi continues to find open shooters our of double teams....this can be an Illini win by double figures.

Unfortunately, we have enough of a sample size and a stat sheet that shows those winning traits are not likely to happen...but there is no reason it can't happen. So here remains the odd Cat hoping for an Illini victory...with two pretty darn good Illini players sitting on the bench in street clothes.
