Now that JJ Taylor has moved to CA, DaiDai Ames/Kenwood has become the go to guy. He has blown up big time and is now the #51/247 composite '023 player. He visited C/U in October. So a long way to go for the 3 PG's....Boswell/Ames/Fears.
Think we have cooled on Fears a little.

My brain says we'll be fine and being selective in regards to Fears makes sense.

My heart has this sinking feeling we go 0/3, struggle due to lack of PG depth, and spend the next decade talking about what could have been if we'd taken Fears.

My brain is obviously right. Right? Right! Right....

I'd full court press Ames to get one, then look to the other 2. Remember Ames plays for Ayo's dad.

Ames looks very impressive in the videos I've seen. Looks to have PG vision and handles, is quite athletic, and a decent shooter. Boswell is obviously the best shooter of the three guys were looking at. Just a beautiful jump shot with great range. Fears, I don't know what to think. I know he's not a good shooter at this point, but he's only half-way through his JR year of H.S., so hate to give up on him.

I was referring to avoiding going 0-3.

I tend to agree Boswell will be very hard. Yes we have the hometown thing going, but he's 5 stars and we know the blue bloods will be on him. We also know what happens when the blue bloods come calling. If we think we can offer the same or more money, maybe, but I'd imagine the blue bloods offer more.

Ames/Fears: I think there's no separation between them (beyond their rankings). Ames has the ball on a string, can drive and shoot. Good athlete and VG defender. If he's ready to commit (with no strings attached), he's a take, even at this early stage, IMO.

And LSU is still looking for a Shaq replacement too. Quite certain a talent like Kofi is generational (at best).

But yes, I agree, we still need a big man in the middle (perhaps a lesser talent, but someone with NCAA championship potential and skills similar to Scott May, James Worthy, Pervis Ellison, Danny Manning, Terry Mills, Dean Garrett.)
Odd that you didn't list Deon Thomas.

The point is not a 7'-0" 280 lbs. from Jamaica

We NEED a presence in the middle to get our shooters space and a few seconds of time.

Of course, The Presence will need about 15 ppg, 10ish rbs, 80% ft, etc. May be we find one in Bosnia or Botswana or Greenland or .......

We will get one - with consistency. The word is out. And, IF we make it to the FF this time around, then we can recruit without fear

JMTs on a lazy Xmas eve

Does Jokic have any eligibility? He might be a good replacement for kofi.

Please try harder. I don't think May would of been eligible without the african-american studies cheating. Worthy was great, but UCLA had a very rich booster. Lots of L'ville players of Crum's era could not speak English, let alone write it. Is Manning's dad coming, for the allowance? Probably could not afford Mills. Moneygan had plenty of cash cakes. I just can't get over the hoosier stench for Garrett.
Dain Dainja has a 7'-7" wing span per one article.

Wrong May? Scott's the dad.

Mystery BOOM solved. Way cooler than we thought.

IEMA: Boom came from F15 EX Strike Eagle fighter jet traveling at supersonic speeds

When I was a kid, we heard those all the time coming out of Chanute about 50 miles north of us.

I would take another Brian Cook. I know, not a true 5 but still...
We have somewhat of a not-so-poor-man's version of Brian Cook on this team right now....

Coleman Hawkins.

Doesn't have quite the post moves and his outside jump shot still needs some refinement and repetition. But IMO the similarities are there. By the time he's a Senior, he's gonna be a real treat to watch.

I agree that there are some similarities, but Cook, IMO was a post player who can shoot. CoHawk definitely doesn't have the game or look of a "post" player at all, IMO.

I thought Cook had a great stroke. He would have been a great stretch 4 in todays game. If Hawkins can start knocking down outside shots, I think his game will open up.

Saw Cookie play in Orlando around a decade ago vs. Cavs. All he did was sit in a lounge chair at the arc and pop a three now and then...out-court so he was ready to defend the break. I imagine he spent many hours of practice just firing away from his spot. Got a pretty good paycheck for it though.
