It's an inexact science.

Yeah this is just how the AP poll works. You don't jump unless someone in front of you loses (while you win) or you beat a team ranked higher than you. I did think we'd jump Bama though but w/e 🤷‍♂️

Now let’s never leave again!

For real, though, keep the wins coming! Avoid slipping up in Lincoln tomorrow, beat Michigan at home on Friday (if they feel like playing us, of course) and we will have a golden opportunity next week to make big moves in the polls.

If we can go 1-0 or 2-0 this week, we will likely be in the 22-25 range next Monday, depending on other results. #7 Purdue plays Nebraska at home this week as heavy favorites, and will likely head into Champaign as a top 10 team a week from today! That game will be huge, and I hope the Krush brings it.

P.S. I went to the Arizona game, and I was SO pleasantly surprised at how GREAT the Krush was! I thought it truly was like the old days, with constant jumping and noise every defensive possession, and I only recently realized that a good chunk of the student section was Krush alumni that game! Learn from your forefathers and bring that same energy next week, Krush members!

As a Krush alumni, I don't think I'd have the energy to keep up that level of intensity in the crowd for a whole game anymore. Kudos to whoever did.

I think the general consensus is we are a 5 seed at the moment, which is fair.
I LOVE that it’s a totally realistic goal for us to play for a top seed and getting placed in the Chicago regional at the UC! It sucks that we’d likely have to jump Purdue to get that, but we can do it!

Cannot imagine how awesome a packed UC for an Illini Tournament game will be!

In case anyone wants to know BU's take on polls (asked before this poll was released):

TL;DC (too lazy; didn't click) - He cares more about the analytics than the ranking...

Just keeping an eye on the Big Ten Standings for now. Hopefully the league can just keep beating up on each other. We have a very favorable conference road schedule this year. Plus only play Ohio St and Wisconsin once both at home.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I heard the Krush won't be at this game or the hypothetical Michigan game. I'll be there and will do my part though.

Coach speak.
I disagree. A lot of programs seem to value the analytical rankings over AP Rankings. The analytical Rankings allow them to pin point measurable items that their team needs to improve on. For example, Brad has referred to where we rank in defensive analytics several times. While AP just says "you're good according to these people". I would imagine you would care more about what the analytics say. Doesn't mean he doesn't care about the AP Rank. He's acknowledged our rankings in the past.
