It's an inexact science.
I was baffled by the Bama slot as well. If not for Paul Klee and Scott Richey putting us in the top 20, we don't even come in at number 25 this week.Yeah this is just how the AP poll works. You don't jump unless someone in front of you loses (while you win) or you beat a team ranked higher than you. I did think we'd jump Bama though but w/e
Even Providence at #23 is wild. They’re #50 in KenPom and just lost to unranked #51 in KenPom, Marquette, by 30.I was baffled by the Bama slot as well. If not for Paul Klee and Scott Richey putting us in the top 20, we don't even come in at number 25 this week.
25 is perfect. We are ranked, but get to play with a chip on our shoulder because we are being disrespected! Our ranking in the first week of January won’t matter much after our 19-1 finish to the BT schedule.
Looking good Lewis!!Me looking at the bottom of those standings....
We are sooooo much better than ADVERTISEMENT. The voters are obviously swayed by the media attention ADVERTISEMENT gets.
I think the general consensus is we are a 5 seed at the moment, which is fair.Man some AP voters are going to have a rude awakening when the NCAA releases its top 16 seeds and we are a 2 or 3 seed (at worst).
Just keep winning.

As a Krush alumni, I don't think I'd have the energy to keep up that level of intensity in the crowd for a whole game anymore. Kudos to whoever did.Now let’s never leave again!
For real, though, keep the wins coming! Avoid slipping up in Lincoln tomorrow, beat Michigan at home on Friday (if they feel like playing us, of course) and we will have a golden opportunity next week to make big moves in the polls.
If we can go 1-0 or 2-0 this week, we will likely be in the 22-25 range next Monday, depending on other results. #7 Purdue plays Nebraska at home this week as heavy favorites, and will likely head into Champaign as a top 10 team a week from today! That game will be huge, and I hope the Krush brings it.
P.S. I went to the Arizona game, and I was SO pleasantly surprised at how GREAT the Krush was! I thought it truly was like the old days, with constant jumping and noise every defensive possession, and I only recently realized that a good chunk of the student section was Krush alumni that game! Learn from your forefathers and bring that same energy next week, Krush members!
I LOVE that it’s a totally realistic goal for us to play for a top seed and getting placed in the Chicago regional at the UC! It sucks that we’d likely have to jump Purdue to get that, but we can do it!I think the general consensus is we are a 5 seed at the moment, which is fair.
Feeling good Winthorp!Looking good Lewis!!
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I heard the Krush won't be at this game or the hypothetical Michigan game. I'll be there and will do my part though. Now let’s never leave again!

Not based on NET.I think the general consensus is we are a 5 seed at the moment, which is fair.
Coach speak. In case anyone wants to know BU's take on polls (asked before this poll was released):
TL;DC (too lazy; didn't click) - He cares more about the analytics than the ranking...
I disagree. A lot of programs seem to value the analytical rankings over AP Rankings. The analytical Rankings allow them to pin point measurable items that their team needs to improve on. For example, Brad has referred to where we rank in defensive analytics several times. While AP just says "you're good according to these people". I would imagine you would care more about what the analytics say. Doesn't mean he doesn't care about the AP Rank. He's acknowledged our rankings in the past.Coach speak.
