Vegas has us as -13.5 pt favorites on the road. I’m not surprised since Nebraska is quite bad. Don’t mind what we win by, just win.

With the entire preconference season and first quarter of the conference season gone(after tomorrow).....the clock is running on how much of a factor on the season he could even be. The offense is running under a completely different philosophy than what they were running in the beginning of November. It's going to take time for BU to figure out his role, much less AC getting up to game speed.

I guess I wouldn't have a problem with the staff telling him to put the ball down, get 100%(which is most important) and enjoy the ride until next year.

I mean if he's healthy, he should dress. Heck even if he just gives us 10 mpg it's worth it.

Of course if he keeps ramping up and facing set backs you shut him down at some point

The rankings would be the same whether Pomeroy (and his staff if he really has one) watched basketball 24/7 or didn't watch a single game this season. I misspoke in terms of "meaning something" to the fans, ESPN, players and recruits etc. It does matter to all of them. However, I still regard people like Sagarin and Pomeroy in terms of ranking accuracy. You make a good point, iceman.

We'd better be careful; Nebraska's bowling team placed third in a Vegas tourney yesterday. But to be serious, I'm in my regular worry-wart status about tonight's game. Upsets happen and they happen often. I can't forget how OSU had to go overtime to beat these guys in Lincoln. Go Illini! #25 is nice, but nowhere near where we want (and deserve) to be.

Different season, different circumstances, but we can't forget what happened the last time we went to Lincoln. They took us to OT. Can't look past a single game/opponent.

If memory serves they baited us into a lot of 3’s last year, which wasn’t really our game (we shot a high % but low volume). Sounds like that continues to be their game plan this year and will be interesting to see if they adjust against a strong 3pt team like us. After a few days of practice/shooting I think Plummer and Grandi are due to revert back to their 40%+ ways after a couple of off performances. And if not, Trent, Damonte and the freshman can knock them down too.

On defense I really think we just need to prevent Verge or McGowens from going off. Trent should be able to contain Verge. McGowens is the type of long wing that gives us trouble but I don’t think he’s anywhere close to Mathurin at this point and I think DaMonte should be able to bother him.

No gimmes in the BIG but as long as we don’t shoot atrociously from 3 (ie worse than Maryland) and don’t sleepwalk on defense we should win this one.

I am so glad we have BU as our coach.......I hardly ever think back to the latter years of Weber or all of Groce's time spent as our head coach....The future is so bright for the Illini direction for the future..............................

When BU first arrived here, he had the reputation of being 100% offense/damn the defense kinda coach with little emphasis on rebounding. Two years ago “defense travels” became the team’s mantra. He either has really gown into being a complete coach adapting to the team and league, or he was seriously miscategorized.

"Damn the defense?". My recollection is that we were to expect a super-aggressive, attacking defense that was going to force a lot of turnovers. Do I remember that wrong?

Verge will be playing with a huge chip on his shoulder.He grew up liking Illinois. McGowens is one of the top 3 Freshman in the BIG.
