Illinois 81, Nebraska 71 Postgame

IDK. Trent kinda looks like PG to me. Drive to the hoop. Make FTs. Pull up for a 3. Shut down the D. Fearless!
and a nice 5:1 A/TO ratio...

that pass to damonte was peak curbelo-esque....literally a jumping look off cross court pass that faked the !!!! out of whoever was on damonte

Payne played so well, that we didn’t even put Kofi back in the game once he had 4!!

Something just felt really off about this game. Everyone looked exhausted coming off 5 days rest, especially Kofi. He looked GASSED all game, and it showed defensively. Between that and Belo talking to the officials and chucking up a three from the bench, it just felt like we collectively did not have our heads in this one. I say all of this, yet we pull out a double digit B1G road win. Heck of an effort by the bench down the stretch, and TF does what TF does. Hope we get that 3-point stroke back. We haven’t had it these last couple games. Hope this team gets some rest before Friday and comes out with some fire!!

The first half he was off. He was 4 for 10 from the field and possibly 1 for 3 from the line. The thing isn't about the total sum of the stat line versus what his capability given the same set of shots he can easily make. Trent could have had 40.
Trent on the season is 40% from the field and 39% in his career........so 4/10 is right on normal for him.

He only missed two fts in the game and one was in the second half so he wasnt 1/3 in the first.

LINCOLN, Neb. — Once again Illinois got all it could handle during a visit to Nebraska.
Trent Frazier scored a season-high 29 points, Kofi Cockburn had his eighth straight double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, and the 25th-ranked Illini held off the struggling Cornhuskers for a hard-earned 81-71 victory Tuesday night.

----------------------------------------------------

Trent is the epitome of every day guy.....................total dedication and pride in his school , team and coaching staff..........It's been such a pleasure to watch him come in as a frosh and do what was needed of him , such as scoring early on in his career and blossoming into an Elite defender , ball handler and heart of the team.....

I will miss seeing # 1 out on the court next year , so I'm gonna enjoy every second left this year.....Hopefully we can go on a deep deep run( 6 games) in the dance and give him a thrilling conclusion to his Illini career.....................

I hope the program finds a spot for Trent sometime in the future. He has worked hard and done things the right way from day one. Class act all the way. CASH!!! Will his jersey hang from the rafters someday?

Just looked at ESPN for scores of top 25. List all the other games except Illinois win. Get to top 25 for recognition then ESPN doesn’t list us.

9 turnover is pretty good against a team billed as good at forcing turnovers. Something I've noticed recently is how much better the perimeter passing has been. Early on we saw a lot of lazy passes leading to jumped lanes and easy runouts but those plays have disappeared. Nebraska certainly tried to jump passing lanes but the guys did a better job of actually seeing the pass before making it instead of going off what they are supposed to do.

Not surprised this was a close game there's no gimmes in the B10 especially on the road, it was a positive sign that they were able to close out a feisty NB squad with Kofi on the bench. Up next a 7-6 Michigan squad that's obviously desperate for a win, so could be a battle, gotta keep the intensity up keep on rolling because the upcoming schedule is going to get a lot tougher.

Maaan when Underwood pulled Kofi I was so ready to start up another week long argument about sitting players in foul trouble 😂 but good god was that a good decision
I think the bigger issue was Underwood not sitting Kofi earlier. He was obviously gassed at the 5 minute mark (and really before then). Payne had already been playing well. Should've sat him through the under 4 timeout and then put him back in to finish the game. Instead, tired Kofi = fouling kofi and were put in a bit of a precarious situation. Luckily Omar played fantastically.

The dude doesn't have an off night in my book. Confidence is through the roof at all times. If the shots not falling, you know he is going to defend his 🍑 off ...

Trent doesn't get near the respect he deserves. The epitome of an Every. Day. Guy.
Trent had a great second half. No one had a good first half. Trent was pressing and pounding the ball when everyone should have worked through Kofi to get him shots and space the floor. They did a much better job of this in the second half. It lead to more layups and open looks. We still missed too many open looks when Kofi made good passes plus Kofi missed FTs. The last 4 minutes Omar and Trent were huge with some other key plays off the bench. I dont think Trent would say he played great in the first half.
