Illinois 68, Michigan 53 Postgame

He's played 8, 9, 5 in the prior 3 games as a true freshman on a very old team. That's not by happenstance.
He didnt tonight for a reason and no he has not played PG that much. Barely has he played PG if at all or meaningful minutes at the Point. Trent. DMW and Plummer have. He hasn't brought the ball up and ran the offense much if at all. We disagree. He or someone needs to learn to do that or at least someone does until Belo is back. God forbid Trent misses time or has foul trouble.

I am too tired to look it up .....sorry.............
Hey man, just joking around. I've seen like 100 posts misspelling it, not just yours, and I totally get it. People want to spell it like the word "sincere" because that is a familiar word we see all the time. I know you care and will get it right in time - I'm just 100% confident that there are others that will still be butchering it into the next decade!

This game reminded me of the game a Mich St game last year. They clearly are the inferior team, so they cling, tug, pull, reach in, go over back and basically foul on every posession all game long. The Refs can't call every foul, so they let them ho and get lulled to sleep and just never call the fouls on them. They could literally called 4 or 5 fouls every time down the court, but tbey didn't. This let to an ugly, slow, hard to watch game. Glad we shook the toward the end and the best team won.

I literally never said anything about him playing PG. I said he was getting tick. And Missouri, Nebraska, and Maryland are still p5 teams.

I have a feeling I know who the next having their name butchered by Loyalty all-star is going to be, following in the footsteps of Georgi and Curbello.
I'm too tired to look it up............sorry , didn't mean to be rude...................

Everybody's back playing now, and everyone has played another game since the last update, so here's an updated EM:

Illini still maintaining the insane EM. Purdue's big win tonight vaults them up into the upper part of the standings.

MSU still 2nd but levelled out a bit. Indiana-Ohio State-Wisconsin all plus teams.

Michigan is basically an average team overall, boosted by a big win against Nebraska. Iowa effectively playing neutral to this point, should pick up some easier wins later on when the schedule opens up for them.

PSU-Rutgers-Maryland-Northwestern a step below, have to see if any of them step up to get a tournament bid.

Minnesota has taken several big losses already, even seeing them still in brackets is going to be difficult if they can't turn things around a bit

Nebraska is really bad.

After the game I believe one of the analysts said when we get Curbelo back we would contend for the national championship. I hope it plays out just like that.
I so hope we do get him back this year and he can get to 100% by the tournament. We really need someone who can make things happen when our outside shots aren't falling. And we have no really trustworthy ball handler other than Trent.

IMO getting him back is the difference between a Sweet 16 team and a Final Four team.

As I stated above, just joking around. I didn't take it to be rude at all. And it's been a common mistake on here, not just you by any means. It's understandable too, his name is spelled just a little different than a very common word, so the mind jumps to that spelling.

Trent has to play like 100 minutes a game. When he sits it get really really ugly.
Man, you aren't kidding. I think if Trent has to sit I like Alfonz at point a LOT more than Damonte. I think I'd rather see Melendez run point than watch DW try again. To Michigan's credit they played fast and defended like mad. The officiating was... bizarre? That first half was difficult to watch and/or make sense of. What a game. Trent was a beast but I thought Plummer really played clutch at some critical times as well. Kofi was just Kofi. They hacked him to pieces and he hung tuff. Pretty gritty win tonight boyz. What did that look like on TV? It was pretty nutz at the Hall [SFC].

Ok, I thought it was pretty obvious I was referring to the PG position when I said to back up Trent until Belo is back. Quite frankly we don't need Podz at any other position this year but PG right now. It is good he is getting limited experience in some regard but not much if any at point. We need him or someone in that role at least until Belo is back.

The Michigan pundits already making the case on the Fox after show that it could have been different if they had Hunter
I'm surprised ANY of the Michigan players showed up tonight. Kind of nice to see Michigan forced to play with a player or two out. Of course the Michigan pundits never brought up the fact that it might have been different if we'd had Curbello back as well? No?
