Does anyone have a breakdown of Illinois scoring by quarter? It seems to me that we usually do OK in the first ten minutes; we often have a scoring drought in the second ten minutes; we start to build up steam at the beginning of the second half, but we then just take complete control in the final ten minutes.

Is this just recency bias on my part, or do we really do a lot better when the game is on the line?

Going back to when Lou took over in the mid-'70s through '05, if Wikipedia is accurate (I know, bold talk there):

1983-84: 10-2 (finished 15-3)
1986-87: 9-3 (took it to 11-3)
1988-89: 9-3 (finished 14-4)
1992-93: 9-3 (took it to 10-3)
1997-98: 10-2 (finished 13-3)
2000-01: 10-2 (took it to 11-2; finished 13-3)
2003-04: 9-3 (finished 13-3)
2004-05: 12-0 (finished 15-1)
Those were some very good years.

I take this as a huge compliment for TF from a Hoosier fan. By the way the fans are a tad bit frustrated. Nice to be on the other side of it these days.

Wow! I thought we were argumentative? Thank you @Dan for working hard to keep our Board civil. On one page of their thread, they called each other “Karens” no less than 7 times (is it 2018 again 😆). WTH? I take a blood oath right now (without the blood, of course, cuz I’m soft) to never call any of you, my fellow Board members, a Karen.

Well that was a fun game! Huge road win. Extremely well-played from start to finish.

As Brad continually says, "No two games are alike." He seems to feel them out each 1st half --- adjust after 20 min --- and then bury the opponent in the 2nd half.

Indiana plays really great DENY defense, reminiscent of Bobby Knight's old teams. Kudos to Woodson for that. We have so many weapons, though, and we're going 10 or 11 deep with Curbelo, Hawk, Goode, RJ, BBV and Payne. (Most teams can play only 7-8 guys.) And BB has shown the confidence to put Poz in there too when needed.

Bring on the Boilers!!!! This game is set up perfectly for us, and we'll probably be a 3-5 point underdog. I like it. Winner will probably finish 1st in the Big10 regular season.

Those were some very good years.
I made a mistake and counted the 2OT Georgia Tech victory in January '89, so we only got to 8-4, not 9-3 in the Flying Illini year.

Yes, very good years. Props to Lou, Lon, Bill & Bruce.

The only thing that would make this better- if I still lived in Indiana and could go about the rest of my day running errands proudly displaying the Orange & Blue.
Same here, bruh. 😂

Indiana just seemed exhausted halfway thru the second half. I don't know whether it takes more out of the opposing team by guarding us, or the way we guard them. The Illini are in incredible shape, they still looked pretty fresh, even tho the starters played a lot of minutes. This team seems to have that "it", a kind of swagger that's not overt, but very confident. The Flyin Illini had it, the DWill team had it. Nothing seems to faze them.
Omar gave Kofi a couple nice breathers today. That is such a luxury. When is the last time we had a big man with Omar's talent to give our All American a blow.....either a really long time or never.
Jack Ingram?

Bo Borowski pre game realizing he suited up in the wrong color stripes.
Yes- Borowski has been consistently horrible for us- I don’t know if you can look up calls by official but the eye test with a large sample size tells you he just sees the game against us- I don’t mind Brad stroking Bo a bit in the post game presser to maybe change the tide but he was awful again today

Just take the trip on Curbelo- it’s good he admitted he missed it but why turnaround and call a flagrant when you didn’t have to when you know you blew the trip call? It doesn’t make any sense- unless you want to screw Illinois every time you have their game which he appears to want to

If he has the Purdue game I’m going to lose it

Illini are 13-2 in last 15 ROAD GAMES......................................Just think about that for a minute .......................

I'm thinking about it... Thinking about it A LOT.

.866 road winning percentage is f***ing insane!! 39-13 overall conference record since 2019 (.750 winning percentage)...

Stop what you're doing for a minute and just savor that aroma, folks

Nothing better than Road Kill involving one of our most hated rivals! I also enjoyed reading a few pages of their comments. While the Illini faithful can get a bit contentious with one another, IU's fans are in a tailspin and they are talking about the bubble. :shield:

No it’s not. Tons of bitchy Karen’s. Over emotional grown children. Cockburn is just better and so is Illinois. You think you don’t see other players not get called for travel and elbows? I’ll agree with us being spoilers. We are exactly where we were picked pre season. 5-7. We are who we are. Woodson threw everything he could at them. They are just better.

Thanks for posting. Spent some time on their page a few observations:

1. I noticed a few IL screen names on their board. Love that we are doing reconnaissance missions. Thank you FOTNM.
2. Other teams are noticing what we on this board are sometimes blind to…. Illinois basketball is really good.
3. They don’t have ANYONE like Pruman.
