Does anyone have a breakdown of Illinois scoring by quarter? It seems to me that we usually do OK in the first ten minutes; we often have a scoring drought in the second ten minutes; we start to build up steam at the beginning of the second half, but we then just take complete control in the final ten minutes.

Is this just recency bias on my part, or do we really do a lot better when the game is on the line?
KenPom game results have a quarter breakdown in every game. ($$)

I've never mentioned anything about Indiana's clown pants to my 12 yr old son before. Today I called him up from the basement to replay Trent's cross over 3. A few plays later they showed Indiana's bench and my son says, "Ha! They look like clowns". I enjoyed that.
And this is what fathers are for: To show their son(s) the correct way to see life.

I might be mistaken, but was that a travel? Either way, it was sick !
Nope. Nonexistent as a Bo Boroski swallowed whistle. ;)

[EDIT: BTW, that's about a four-foot step-back J]

I am happy as all get out to see nothing but net here from DMW, but I have to ask why is this not traveling, especially being on the road? Asking for a friend. Plummer had one of these in the second half and I could see the smoothness he transitioned into that step back. I don't know...this is one of my surprises of this game.

Kofi was #4 in the B1G in KenPom's POY rankings before today's game.
Now #2
I know its just an algorithm, but that is sort of the point. Unbiased and based on a system.
Might not agree with it, but certainly like the direction.
And I don't see EJ Liddell taking that hardware from Kofi.

Yes, you are the only one. Trust me, the opposing coach respects Brad more for that approach instead of hitting another 3 with the clock running out.
Not necessarily. In a past life I coached College Women for 13 years (NAIA) and Men for 2 years. When I was coaching men, we were leading our rival by like 13 points and I told the guys to take the shot clock violation. They came out and trapped us and the other coach made a huge deal about it.

When we shook I told him that I was not trying show him up. He told me his team did not need my charity.

So for the next game we played against them, we worked on something in practice. Game comes down to us with a 10-12 or lead and I call for the shot clock violation. He orders his guys out to pressure us, which is fine. Because we had worked on a backside lob oop. He didn’t even talk to me after the game.

Grandison had a very tough start to the game, but Brad stuck with him. So happy to have Underwood coaching the Illini!

Grandison's two 3-pointers were obviously the big turning point in the game. Not only did they turn a 5-point deficit into a 1-point lead, but they came right on the heels of a dispiriting pair of air balls from Goode and Frazier.

The other incredible shot was Frazier's three after a clean pick of a hard one-hopper from Kofi!

Great team win in a hostile environment! Happy weekend, everyone!

I-L-L....
Brad was smart. Grandy put the ball on the floor and had 2 TO's. He got the message.

So, I was at the game - great tickets thanks to an IU fan friend. Awesome atmosphere for the first half, but we sucked the life out of the crowd early on in the 2nd half. My favorite exchange was after Goode air-balled a 3 and (I think) the next time down the floor Trent air-balled another 3. When Trent gets down to the other half Goode is waiting for him with a big smile and a high-five. Loved it! We owned that 2nd half.

Did Belo get his bell rung again today?? Lots of rubbing his head at one point. Great win. Great effort. Huge 2nd half. Hopefully everyone healthy and ready for Tuesday.
He seemed okay after the game, although his singing was off key)

Wow! See what happens when you give Trent some rest. On to Purdy and light it up !
It's also a good way to get Belo's min's back and keep TF out of early foul trouble. The guy exploded in the 2nd half.

The game completely changed after this moment. What an awesome group of guys!

Huge win. Fun times for us Illini fans right now.
Set up by previous two 3's by that man to Trent's right that he knew they would respect (Mr. Grandison).

Finally able to sit down and watch this absolute smoke job! Wow, what a 2nd half +19 against a pretty good tourney bound team!

Lot of big things, but I'll give some kudos to Coleman! I said a couple days ago we could really use his size and athleticism, especially against Thompson. Even though he has been struggling and sometimes disengaged, I was happy for him today. He played well enough to stop thinking about the negatives I hope going forward.
- He played with confidence
- Did some things off the ball that went unnoticed
- Hedged and helped Trent get a steal during a big run
- Was about to thunder jam one home that went in.
- Had a smile on his face

RJ will be special, btw
