This was yet another game where having more than one defensive system would have been beneficial. Teams will watch this tape and try to exploit the high ball screen in the same way that MSU did today. Of course, it worked until MSU got super hot, but they were also super cold on the same shots in the first half. If we throw a zone at them in the middle of that run, we could force them to try something else besides spamming the high ball screen. Maybe it gets a couple stops and knocks them out of rhythm, or at least forces them to try something else.

Big thing I took from this, this was us. Northwestern and Rutgers games weren’t us. We were out of sorts and didn’t play hard. I don’t mind losing. I hate when we don’t play hard. We did again today.

Nice bounce back. Grandi and Kofi were awesome and Trent hit some big shots. Grandi is key to this team. If he's hitting we can beat anyone. First half defense was great, second half not so great, but MSU hit some shots they weren't hitting early. Takes the pressure off at Mich for sure.

Don’t remember a kofi rebound down the stretch. Also don’t remember many msu misses down the stretch.

Don’t even acknowledge that crap. What about the previous possessions where we used Kofi for kickouts for open threes? We run a very good offense. Hence being able to win @sparty with only one guy really shooting well. Just wait until Plummer gets white hot again. It’s coming.

I have been pissed at Jay Williams since he got crippled in a motorcycle accident right after the Bulls picked him in the NBA draft. I thought he did a good job as the color guy today. I’m sure I was influenced by his positive comments on the team’s potential to become elite. Beyond that I thought some of his insights on how the teams should be attacking each other’s weaknesses made the game more enjoyable for me.

I don’t think so watch the play again. You can see BU yelling at Curbello to give the ball to Trent. Grandy goes right to the corner for a shot, and Kofi had his back to the play (ready to rebound). I believe that was a set play for Grandy or Trent to take the three
