What amazes me even now (and I was watching the beginning of that game in my Snyder Hall dorm room as a freshman and almost fell off my chair when he threw it) was the ovation Knight got walking off the floor. That enabling environment of his tantrums was sumpin' else.
There is a difference in what BU said and this. BU is talking about being tough and physically ready to play within the rules. Interior play in the Big Ten is rough and you need to be able to play through it and keep focused.

At Iowa City, during the second half, a ball went backcourt and nobody was going to be able to catch up to it, so he steps onto the court and retrieves it for the official as a gesture of kindness. Gets a technical for stepping onto the court during live play. Had already gotten a class A technical, so now they slap him with a class C technical. 2 free throws.
