I just ran my off-the-cuff predictions for the rest of the year on the legendary BTT seed simulator, including us winning out as I think we will, and I got these final standings (in order of BTT seed, with the regular season champs in bold):

1. Purdue (15-5)
2. Ohio State (15-5)
3. Illinois (15-5)

4. Wisconsin (14-6)
5. Rutgers (12-8)
6. Iowa (12-8)
7. Michigan State (11-9)
8. Michigan (10-10)
9. Indiana (10-10)
10. Penn State (8-12)
11. Northwestern (7-11)
12. Maryland (6-14)
13. Minnesota (4-16)
14. Nebraska (1-19)

This would have us playing the winner of Iowa and Nebraska/Northwestern in the Quarterfinals and the winner of Ohio State and MSU/PSU should we make it to the semifinals. Kind of a brutal road, but I actually don't mind the idea of a rematch with OSU and Iowa so close. Hopefully we are riding high like last year!
Unfortunately, it’ll be a 4-way tie.

Last six points Wisconsin scored. Free throws. At Rutgers. That’s what will get them beat in the big tournament. For whatever reason they’re a sacred cow in the big ten.
I’m not sure what exactly caused this but I was totally unimpressed with Davis tonight. The one thing that stuck out to me was His elbowing Mulcahaney. That was a bad look, while he rolled down the floor saying expletives. He should have gotten a flagrant - it was pretty obvious and unveiled. They reviewed it but didn’t even call a common foul. And headband Mulcahaney didn’t even do his usual stuff. Davis seemed chippy and a little bit dirty tonight. But he got every call advantage. SMH.

It is very likely OSU wins out. I hope we can win out. If that happens, and PU beats WI, it's indeed a 4 way tie, as you said. If WI beats PU, WI takes title. Either way, we are a 3 seed, and OSU is a 2 seed in the Big Ten Tourney ...but we have to finish strong.

You are correct. I suppose I was confidently airing my prediction in the same breath. Purdue will be inspired after thier lack-luster loss today. And I thought Rutgers loss the game more than Wisc won the game today. I do think OSU wins out.

We just need to do what we do. Win our games.

I think OSU falters one more time.

This is the second Zags conference game (Pepperdine the other) I’ve peeked in on where it looks like they’re playing in a nicely appointed high school gym, complete with wall mats and exit doors just off court. And the concession stands are just about close enough for players to grab a popcorn after a layup and still get back in time for defense.

How they get elite recruits to buy into this as their college experience I’ll never know.

Win or lose tomorrow, does St Mary’s pass us by in the rankings?

Agreed - the dude is weirdly unlikeable. Between him, Murray, and Ivey, it's a whole lot of petulant talent.

This WCC game feels like it’s being played with pillows. It’s a totally different brand of basketball. It doesn’t even look like the same game as the Big10.
You didn't like seeing only 17 free throws?

So does this mean Duke is number 1 again ?

They've had some pretty good success outside of conference this year. At some point you have to give a team props for closing games not escaping them.
Personally, I give the Badgers huge credit for knowing how to play the GAME of basketball. In the end, there is a reaction to every imaginable play....where your hands and feet should be positioned, where to look to pass and for how long, etc., etc., for every player against any other. Wisky and OSU seem to do more of that than any other B1G team without relying on athleticism for it all. Plus their skills at getting the ball in the basket are also strong. Their guys are good at playing basketball without stupid blunders. Not saying they never blunder, just saying they make up for any shortcomings with skill and execution beyond the level of our guys or any other B1G team. But the Illini are getting better and trying to reach a new level across the board. Let's hope RJ and BBV can get on the floor soon and play well. Most of all, I hope Kofi can focus and play loose and competent while realizing there are always 4 other players on the floor with him who can all shoot and score....get it to them big guy when the double comes....without hesitation. Make 'em pick their poison and pay the price. The quicker Kofi learns to give it up the sooner this team will be free to reach their potential. At times OSU had all five defenders within arm's length of him and he still tried to put the ball on the floor and then bring it back up through the kudzu of arms to score. For the result was 5/15 from the floor and sore forearms.
