Haven't read the whole thread, but I assumed our first round tournament loss meant that Wisky would get that treatment over us.
Wisky lost as well..

Disagree. Providence certainly over-achieved and pulled some rabbits out of their hat, but they won the Big East. Houston has one quad one win, and it’s against a team that beat them twice this year (and their seed was locked in before they beat Memphis today).
Efficiency ratings historically do a pretty good job of projecting how teams will do. Kenpom has Houston at #4. Providence at #49. That's a pretty huge difference. Torvik has Houston at #2 and Providence at #45. NET has Houston at #3 and Providence at #33.

Man, I wish one of those guys would tell Seth Davis to shut up
Man I've been kind of neutral on Davis over the years but after reading his columns in the Athletic and his performance or whatever you want to call it on this selection show, he is a Grade A !!!!!!!.

I really could not resent Purdue and Wisconsin playing in Milwaukee more after none of us won the BTT.

So what’s the advantage of winning the Big Ten and beating the team that you shared the title with only to get a lower seed?
There were no top 2 seeds and unless you're Wisconsin....they all got displaced. Speaks to the fact that there were no great teams, but a bunch of good ones. The committee has spoken.

Not a banner day for the conference.

our path has Ken pom rankings 72, 4 and 2 to get through the first 3 games. That is rough

I do think Providence is an easy 4, but their rated that way because they pulled out three of their last seven in OT.

If I’m not mistaken, two common opponents with Houston beating UVA, and Providence beat Wisconsin.

I think kenpom and torvik matter, but not as much when you’re looking at a team that played weak competition all year.

Regardless, I think we can and will beat Houston if they survive the 5-12

Houston is good but the KenPom, Torvik, NET overrate them. They don’t really have significant wins. But they do seem to be consistent in their lower and mid tier wins and don’t really play down to their competition.
