I know know what it feels like to be 0440 for a day. My parents are at the Final 4 they just go every year to party regardless what teams are there but they ran into Underwood, Trent, Plummer, Greg Guard, and the Illini basketball managers. They got tons of recruiting and current player scoop on everyone from the managers but I’m just gonna keep it all to myself😁

TSJ is waiting for a domino to drop before making any decisions. Think the admissions thing has been sorted out. Illinois was very proactive there. It’s like pulling teeth with grad programs though.
Does UI admissions have a particular person/persons/department that deals with student athlete transfer applications? In this new world of transfer portal, it may seem that UI may want to think about an amendment to admission/graduation policies for transfer student athlete. It seems to disproportionately effect the ability of a Jr or Sr credit wise student athlete from transferring in. I get it that this is a minuscule percentage of actual total applications, but how do all these other Universities get around the problem.

Dalen Davis – 2023 – PG – Meanstreets

Davis is the motor behind a highly talented Meanstreets 17U squad. The junior has great all-around point guard skills and was making a huge impact on both ends of the floor. Davis plays with good energy on the defensive end and was constantly getting all over the ball disrupting the opposing offense. A smart player with the ball in his hands who can create for himself as well as teammates. He showed off great court awareness and always knew where to go with the ball. A very skilled passer that did a great job breaking down the defense.

It’s dependent on what program he is in and trying to transfer into here. The kid has plenty of credits. The problem is Illinois doesn’t like kids transferring in for one year and graduations and getting a degree that says Illinois when they only spent a year here……it’s dumb.

I always though final 60 hrs needed to be at Illinois for degree

Makes sense that TSJ would want to wait until he knows if Kofi is staying, TSJ had elite numbers in not just spot-up shooting but attacking off the catch as well. Literally a perfect fit with Kofi

My guess is Jacob Grandison. They play the same position.
I don't think TJS would be worried about anyone on our current roster taking his spot. Jacob may leave but if he did stay he would play with or behind a 2nd team All B12 TJS.

I imagine a big or two that didn't play many minutes along with either or both Jacob and Hutch are were I expect spots to open up.

So, I guess the Whitman needs to speak to the registrar. That really is dumb.

Old arguments

Illinois is an internationally recognized educational institution

We need to recognize that the content that is being taught is the same across the globe: mathematical equations, history (give and take some, granted), English grammar, etc does not change. Illinois has always been an institution that has not really compromised. It should not for any reason

Need to find another way around it - no idea what that is

When I was at UIUC, an engineering department head could directly accept someone into the department as a grad student, bypassing everything else in the admissions chain. The time from "I'd like to be a grad student here", to enrolled in classes was under 2 hours. Getting an assistantship lined up took a bit longer.
