Well, that lends some validity to him being in the portal then, doesn’t it?
Saw this on Twitter somewhere. It looks like he was trying on a pair of shoes at the Portal Shoe Store in Connecticut, and the photo got pinned with the store name, but who knows. A good detective can see that the floor of the store does match the floor of him trying on the shoes. So the next question is was he in Connecticut lately?

When someone we have never heard of states something completely the opposite of what numerous insiders tell us I give them zero credence unless someone close to the program agrees with them. They just want to stir things up. RELAX.

The chilling thought about RJ is that he was best friends with Payne, and that all of his PR connections have left! He's from Florida via Puerto Rico and it makes little sense for him to stay. Miami, anyone? JMHO, and I hate it.
As outsiders who do not know him personally or his relationships with the current staff, we have 0 idea what his driving forces are. For all we know, he has developed solid relationships with guys in Champaign and his family has full faith in Underwood. Trying to guess what motivates people we do not know leads to a dead end.

What we can however verify though is media that are close to the staff feel things are looking good in regards to RJ staying. And others on the board have uttered the same points.

I think those friendships were important during his initial recruitment but, you would think over the past year he has met other people. He has relationships with the staff, coaches, and players along with familiarity with the system. Not to mention that he has a pretty big role carved out here next year.
Hopefully, the reason he chose Illinois was more than they have other dudes form Puerto Rico.
We have guys from all over the country. Trent was from Florida, and stayed 5 years.

I think you’re right. And with Podz being only player from WI, Goode only player from Indiana and Kofi only player from Jamaica, it makes little sense for them to stay. Maybe they’re leaving too.
They all knew they were the only players from their respective territories when they joined. Maybe they formed powerful bonds with our great coaches, passionate (lol) fanbase, and each other. Maybe players are less homesick than this board thinks.
