What about Tennessee?

Crisp mountain air, barbecue on every corner, no state income tax
Is TSJ transferring to play hoops or looking for a quiet place to raise a family?

Obviously down the line and forgive if this has been discussed elsewhere but what's the word on ZZ Clark? (Besides that he wants to play with his brother)

Just speculation but the rumor I've seen on here is that Skyy wants to play with his younger brother ZZ, who is also a PG. While ZZ is class of 2024, I thought I also saw an indication from one of our insiders he may be a reclass candidate. Were that to happen I'd imagine we may not have room for Dai Dai? Again, disclaimer, just pure speculation here on my part.

In any event I'd guess that having Clark coming in, and likely not a one-and-done, makes landing Dai Dai much less urgent at a minumum.
So logical and even realistic. Love how coach and staff continue to adjust and bring in talent.

the last 2 months Potential future PG's Fears ---> Boswell ---> Skyy Looking forward to the results on the court

Boy we all remember 2007-2018 and swing and miss on Fears and we were wondering if anyone could play point.

This is really the massive difference between where we are now versus where we used to be. Previously, our eggs were always all in one basket. It was physically painful when we missed out on a high-profile recruit because the backup plan was someone ranked in the 300s that we'd have to coax to come here two months before the school year started.

Now, when we pass on Fears and miss out on Boswell, we still land a 5-star recruit with tremendous upside AND an extremely talented younger brother. It just feels like we're a completely different program, recruiting on a significantly higher level.

With all the turmoil in college basketball, it's pretty incredible to have a coaching staff that's able to juggle the absurd amount of variables and put us in a position where we are coming out just as good, if not better, every year.

I kinda want him to have the 5 shirt so he can be Skyy-5
He will probably get #25 right? He is the highest rated prospect Illinois had ever gotten since the modern rating system started, right? Although Deron Williams had #5, so that's not bad either

I believe its a race to the spot, Murray or TSJ. I doubt Brad slow plays either. If TSJ wants to come here, he best either knows where Murray is going or he commits first if he feels that’s Murray will commit to the Illini. We are in a great spot.

I have a hunch Underwood already knows the deal (Murray to G'town and TSJ *likely* to IL). There's really no first-come, first-served in a LOT of these recruitments.

The last time the Illini made the tournament 3 consecutive seasons was 05-07. Crazy to think how long it took us to sustain success.

Success and failure are both contagious. Once you start up momentum in one direction or the other it can be tough to reverse your fortunes.

Look at the Nebraska football program. For decades it was one of the very best. Now – for the last 20 years — it has been a laughingstock. Things change. And when a program doesn’t have a plan on how to keep success going... it can only go in a wrong direction.

We all know that the Illini roundball fortunes changed the day our new AD was hired. A talented guy with a vision. And what did he do? He hires another talented guy with a vision. Who also just happens to love Illinois ball. That’s where it starts. That’s the seed bed for success.

The Illini have great momentum and mojo going now. The key is to keep it going long-term and make it a habit and not let it get derailed like it did after 2005.

Your actions today dictate your future of tomorrow.

I'm imagining 5 or 11 for Skyy. 25 has been historically "reserved" for Simeon products out of reverence for Benji Wilson. 5 and 11 have been associated with some of our best guards (Deron, Belo, Ayo, Dee, etc.) in my limited memory.
