Good return considering they acquired him for nothing.Fluery to the Wild. Conditional 1st Rd pick
Nice capper for an outstanding career, congrats Pat Foley.

Trotz is available for coach
The question is, would he come to the Hawks, knowing it will be a few years before they are ready to contend.
Trotz is available for coach
VVG coach, he'll be in demand. Given where the Hawks are at and that he's turning 60, I don't see it. But I'd love to be wrong.
Well said.Another freezing cold Winter night in Chicago.
But the old barn on West Madison Street is packed to the rafters with 16,666 seated fans and an unknown number of Standees putting the old arena well above the Fire Code limit. But nobody complains.
A hazy smoke hangs over the ice. The mighty Stadium organ is belting out old favorites.
And Number 9 with his still-flowing golden locks hits the ice and starts to rev his jets.
At some point during the evening...
The smoke gets heavier. Breathing gets tougher. Even still, Phil Esposito hits Hull with a perfect pass on left wing and Hull slips past his helpless defender.
He shakes free and lets go a wicked wrist shot. The goalie never saw it. The goalie STILL to this day can’t see it.
It hits the back of the net.
Hull and Esposito and Maki embrace in the slot.
The goalie looks lost and confused.
The Stadium organ is rocking. 20,000 people are going nuts.
And then one day... the Golden Jet is sent off to be retired to the Hangar for the second time in his Blackhawk life.
There would be no Blackhawks as we know today without Number 9. And Number 21.
And not even the haze hanging over the ice could stop one from seeing that.
I read that. How does that happen?Among the many things that did not happen for the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2021-22 NHL season was a statistical anomaly that hadn’t occurred in just over five decades.
For the first time since the ‘70-71 Buffalo Sabres expansion season, the Blackhawks went a full NHL season without a defenseman scoring a power-play goal
Assuming he's willing to come to Chicago, I guess it depends on the style Davidson wants out of the team. If it's a high flying, Colorado Avalanche style, Trotz is not the guy for that. If it's a defensive style first, then he's your guy. When Trotz became head coach of the Islanders they were predicted to finish 7th or 8th in their division. I have no idea if he would consider the Hawks, but if he wasn't scared by the post-Tavares Islanders roster I don't think he'd be scared by the current Hawks roster.
If he's not first on Davidson's list then I'd be very curious to see who is ahead of him. He is a difference-maker, one of the few IMHO.
And…they didn’t. Embrace the tank!Hoping the Hawks don't win the draft lottery tonight. Would rather give this year's 1st rounder to CBJ and have a shot at Connor Bedard next year
Very weak return for Cat. Must be because he can go UFA after two more seasons. Good luck to Cat. I'll always be a big fan.
Tanking hard for Bedard!
I got to talk to Connor a few times when he played for the Coyotes. He was one of the most humble and nicest athletes I have ever met.Hawks signed Connor Murphy to a 4 year extension today, $4.4M AAV:
Good move.
Hate to see him go but the Blackhawks have a very limited prospect pool and I get it. Thought they would get more for Debrincat but surprised they got what they did for Dach.Very weak return for Cat. Must be because he can go UFA after two more seasons. Good luck to Cat. I'll always be a big fan.
