Anyone had credible status on JJ Taylor and Dai Dai Ames for the class off '23? Not too long ago, Illinois seems to be atop the mix of schools pushing for both players talk seems to have fizzled a little for both players. Ames seems more likely, IMO. Anything??

I have no info, but from what I’ve read on here Taylor won’t be coming here.

LOL the Skyy Instagram-follow tea leaves proved accurate as he followed like half our team in the weeks leading up to his commitment, so I've been checking up on guys like TSJ and Ramey from time to time.
Also worth noting that Michigan currently has 14 on scholarship right now I believe so that plus admissions will probably make it tuff for him to commit there

These guys always follow of ton of people from every school they are looking at. It's not worth following.

Nice to add ZZ to the mix but whether he signs his NLI is going to be entirely dependent on the experience of Skyy.
Yeah. Coach will try to sabotage Skyy and put him on the bench to make sure he transfers... (Sarcasm meter turned high.) No. I think he will basically have the Ayo status (i.e., the top dog) and he won't be like Mark Smith or Adam Miller. So color me not worrying about the Skyy experience.

Here we go again with the Final Four and National Championship talk

Can't win it all if you can't even make it to the Sweet Sixteen

Hey, I get it, and technically, you're not wrong. But you know, what if we just enjoy a good day for the program and maybe dream a little bit about the future? There have been so many hard times to be an Illini fan. This isn't one of them. It's okay to be happy for a bit.

Keep knocking on the door and it will eventually open.
Seriously … people act like we’ve had seven shots at a Sweet Sixteen and can’t break through. We got upset in 2021 (same thing happened to Baylor literally this year) and lost a coin-flip game to an arguably superior team while we weren’t at 100% in 2022.

What would these pessimistic posters have us do? Assume we will never be better than last year?! Gotta walk before you can run, and 2018 wasn’t that long ago … our progress since then is amazing. If we keep getting 4-seeds and above and keep getting back to the Big Dance, we WILL get a favorable draw and we WILL break through for an Elite Eight and beyond. It simply eventually happens when you return to the Tournament routinely with the kind of talent we continue to get.
