Yuri 1000% Yuri I want nothing to do with Ramey and I’m not sure why so many people on here are clamoring to get him
That’s tough, but give me Yuri.
give me ramey, bigger and better defender, 3 pt shot is there and can play the 2.

@Indy Illini Fan is right, Collins wants the ball in his hands at all times, wont happen with skyy, coleman, and rj and hopefully kofi.

He will be given that chance at Tennessee. this is a long shot for us but worth it

Yuri Collins announced he will enter the transfer portal after leading the country in assists last season and breaking several St. Louis University records along the way.
The move comes as a significant blow to SLU’s roster after the Billikens have been touted as a potential top 25 team entering the 2022-23 season.

Collins had previously announced his intent to explore NBA draft possibilities while maintaining his eligibility. He has signed with an NCAA certified agent that would allow him to return to college and play two more seasons.
The point guard from St. Louis averaged 7.9 assists in 2021-22, had a SLU season-record 267 assists and recorded 19 in one game for a school mark.

He was expected to team with returning players Gibson Jimerson, Javonte Perkins, Francis Okoro, Fred Thatch Jr. and Terrence Hargrove Jr. to give the Billikens a formidable core.
Collins carried a significant load for SLU last season after Perkins was sidelined for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. His scoring increased to 11.1 points per game from 5.5 the previous season and he showed improvement with his 3-point shooting.
However, he also had trouble with turnovers and ended up leading the country with 138, leaving him with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.93-to-1.

How could anyone really actually think that ZZ reclassing and thus getting Fletched and practicing/playing with our group next year is a negative thing?

If he has the same work ethic and attitude I've seen from his brother......this is beyond a good thing.

So, that would be like, you know....a great thing.
You've listed some pros but there could also be cons. True, you can get a very good player next year but that means that you don't likely have him as an even better player five years from now. ZZ will likely be behind several guards next year but would possibly be a game changer in 27-28. Then again it's hard to project the status of ANY player five years down the road.

Edit: Pretty much already covered by others.

Just seeing those years makes me feel ancient...

I graduated high school at seventeen. I could have graduated at 16, but my parents wouldn't let me. They indicated I wasn't mature enough. I probably wasn't. I was a freshmen at the U of I and turned 18 that October. If the kid wants to reclassify and he's parents are ok with it, that's all that matters. I trust Underwood and his staff.
Same story with me. Graduated HS at 17, turned 18 in November of Fr year at UIUC. This was in 1976, seemed like everyone was MUCH older than me at college.

Not saying you're wrong, but that hasn't been the case for TSJ thus far. Collins is the first person he's followed in a couple of weeks. He also has followed Dickinson and Skyy for a while.
Not slamming on anyone but trying to put a thought to ponder. Would the Illini program be better served by a guy like Ayo who is a leader than any kid who is a follower? Seems to me BU loves leaders and this team is loaded with them. But the best leaders are the ones who care only about the team winning but are ready to make elite contributions whenever NEEDED. I suspect that is exactly what NBA teams are seeking also.
