Truth. As much as I liked him, he was as foul happy as a sixth grader. And BBV proved he was much better at bodying up with someone regardless of being outsized. That just isn't the case ... Payne wasn't ahead of Dainja and likely BBV.

...And you think if NBA scouts had realize he'd become the NBA's best rim protector he would have been drafted #27?
Everyone has been told something different. And with Kofi's camp no one will know for sure until tomorrow.
Hard work, good coaching, awesome athletic ability, and work ethic go along way to making you be Elite. Something BU always talks about One reason Jerry Rice is one of my favorite athletes ever, was the GOAT, awesome as a WR until in his 40s. I know it's not hoops but regardless of the sport I use him as a role model for a dedicated athlete all the time. He would be a good one for all Illini athletes to try and use as a role model to be the best they can be. Most do not have it in them that's for sure.Skyy will, Ty will once on campus. Dain has been since being here, Goode works his tail off. I will say being a D1 athlete isn't easy, all these guys work....some just give it a little more to be the best they can. Kobe as an example....everyone in the NBA works hard....no one worked harder than Kobe though.
this^I have heard so many different things from different people. This is nuts.....My gut says he's coming back but we will seeEveryone has been told something different. And with Kofi's camp no one will know for sure until tomorrow.
Is this a joke? Plummer played 31 and Trent 37. They combined to go 3-13 from 3pt land. Who did you want in?After watching Brad fail to play shooters with him in the tournament, don't blame him if his choice is to transfer
I bet he enters portal.
Good grief. Ready to get this over with, one way or another. Would love to have him back, but I wouldn’t blame him for trying to play pro somewhere. If it’s the portal, I will be pissed.Everyone has been told something different. And with Kofi's camp no one will know for sure until tomorrow.
These are my feeling exactly.Good grief. Ready to get this over with, one way or another. Would love to have him back, but I wouldn’t blame him for trying to play pro somewhere. If it’s the portal, I will be pissed.
I wasn't nervous, until I read these past two posts.this^I have heard so many different things from different people. This is nuts.....My gut says he's coming back but we will see

If he enters the portal his time at Illinois is done.My beach house says portal but comes back 2 weeks later. Maximize opportunities.
Really!!??If he enters the portal his time at Illinois is done.

We’ll see. He entered portal last year. He could do it again as a negotiation tactic to get more NIL $$ from IL. I think if he plays college ball it will be at Illinois. Find out tomorrowLot of haters with the Portal talk for Kofi.
I trust our insiders and none of them have said anything about Kofi and portal.
Just don't understand why people post nonsense.
If he enters the portal his time at Illinois is done.
I don’t go to partiesAnd I bet your fun at parties.
No they would not. Here is why. Like Alonzo Mourning once said if he was coming up today he would have worked on and gotten good at the aspects of today's game like bigs do today. These elite athletes would have done that too if born in to this era. Even so if old school Jabbar was in this year's draft he would absolutely be the #1 pick. He had the most unstoppable shot in the history of basketball and shot it at a very high percentage. That will always translate.Quite honestly, some of the greatest Centers of all time would have a problem finding a place in today’s game.
Wilt Chamberlain... Bill Russell... Nate Thurmond... Artis Gilmore... Patrick Ewing... Jabbar... etc. played in eras when the Big Man in the Low Post really could anchor and dominate the game. They were matchup nightmares and could singlehandedly change the flow and fortunes of a game and season.
But first came the Three Point Line... and more Guards began to learn to hit with frequency from distance. Then, Forwards began to drain Threes. And now, guys around 7 feet have learned how to add the long outside game to their well-crafted inside game. And everybody likes to go for that extra point these days and the low-post and mid-range games have become less important.
Wilt Chamberlain... Bill Russell... Nate Thurmond... Artis Gilmore... Patrick Ewing... Jabbar... etc. would certainly find a place in today’s Association. But They would not be the same dominant forces nor would They be the focus of modern Offenses any more. They couldn't be.
And where They used to dominate Defensively with their inside presence... They would do nothing to stop the hot Three Point shooters of today. And most everybody knows how to shoot Threes today.
And Kofi – not being in the same class as all those legends — is cut in the mold of that kind of Center from a generation or two ago.
It’s just fundamentally a different game from what it used to be. And it likely won’t change in the future unless something is done to tweak the rules again.
So for Kofi — does he want to face his future NOW or in a year? He’ll pretty much be the same player either way. And whatever he decides... it will probably make much more of a different to the Illini this year than it will for his own future.
The Big Center without an outside game has now been diminished like the running back in football or the baseball hurler whose fast ball can’t get above 93. The Game is passing them by.
We all appreciate Kofi for what he's done right now without any worry for tomorrow.
What would be the benefit for Kofi to transfer at this point to another school and not enter NBA Draft?Bingo ... I have heard multiple different outcomes and have talked to 10+ people ... Gut feeling says he's back, but nothing would surprise me at this point.
