Exactly. That was probably a big factor. Shannon gets it done in the classroom. He deserves to be a University of Illinois student. There's nothing noble or well-intentioned about these transfer policies that deny credits from carrying over. They are 100% about getting kids to enroll into branch campuses of schools like Michigan and Illinois, so the tuition money all flows to the same place. There is nothing else behind them. No reason a genEd at University of Michigan Dearborn is inherently more worthy of counting towards a UM degree than a course at Texas Tech.
Yeah the rule really is dumb when you put it like that. Michigan really !!!!ed themselves over.

I for one want to roll with Skyy as the starter. If we can get a solid backup guard with experience, that'd be fine.
Still do not think he will be that guy but if he is then agree that a backup would also be beneficial.

But why? He hasn't played a minute of college basketball. We have no idea if he is ready. Doesn't hurt to bring in a starting caliber transfer to be safe.
We need at least one experienced PG to go along with Epps and Clark. Ideally as good as the freshman are they will be a learning curve so we need some experience to go along with them

A mid major PG would be ideal. Nobody to spook anyone, but a guy who can play a true point (as it's wait and see from Clark and Epps at the collegiate level) and push the young guys so there is someone to unseat. Last year, Curbelo in all his wildness was the only true point and right now there's nobody except a couple freshmen who we have to see from. Someone mentioned Andres Feliz, that's the kind of guy I'd have in mind. If we could clone him, I'd be all for someone like that.

How do we think this will affect our relationship with Simion? They used to be a feeder program but have fallen off lately. I love their grads...
Personally, I think everyone is down for some Dominant Erupt but I'd love to hear Illini0440 or Indy's take

I just want to say how funny I think it is for Michigan fans to freak out about random national personalities calling us their “rival,” as if it’s some narrative we desperately push. 😂

1) Most Illini fans would name IU, Missouri and Iowa well ahead of Michigan.
2) Getting annoyed that those pansies cheated us out of a Big Ten title and that Hunter Dickheadson seems to be obsessed with talking about us is not some proclamation of a rivalry … it’s just responding to things relevant to us.
3) I absolutely do not accept some universe in which Michigan Basketball is superior enough to provide Illinois Basketball with ANY extra credibility by having an association with them.

Delusional losers.
