Just gonna throw this out there for those that complain we don't talk enough about recruiting. Mayer’s shooting percentage went down significantly (fg% 48.9 to 40.9 and 3p% 39.5 to 32.4) with more playing time (min. 15.7 to 22.8) this past season, which is a little concerning. His free throw percentage did at least go up, though (ft% 59.2 to 70.0). He stands to make a lot of money if he can get that shot more consistent. He has solid rebounding numbers (reb. 5.0) and plays stellar defense (stl. 1.2). His versatility and length (6'9") are his biggest assets and I think BU could find a lot of ways to use him. Also, obviously, he knows what it takes to win.
If it’s an either-or situation, I’d rather have Nance. Though, I would hope that’s not the case, as Nance is more of a 4/5 and Mayer is a wing. I would be pretty darn excited to see Mayer in the orange and blue next year and could learn to love the mullet.
