If a post was only to extoll the glories of a mullet, you either have to post Nicolas Cage or you failed

I'd take a flyer on the Kiwi kid. Sure, he's raw. But he has attributes you can't coach up.

Just to be clear, I see him as a futures play, much more than immediate dividends.
I'd be fine with taking him also but if we do I still hope there are other options out there. Like you said Garape is very raw, looks great to me but is young, and needs time to adapt. I would think if we landed him and he did reclassify I doubt it would be to expect anything from him in the court next season. He would benefit from a year here learning the system and with Fletch. We would still need some depth that's built and ready to play in the B10.

Not sure I can think of a compelling argument against that.

3 open scholarships, lack of future big man talent currently on the roster, and a supposed awful 2023 big man class all make the Kiwi fit well here.

He sure seems to have both a higher ceiling and a higher floor than some of our prior projects.

Looking at latest Mock, not in top 60
Nor is or was Kofi. Do you feel Kofis chances of being drafted are better?
I think Nance should come back if we have a solid NIL offer from us he could make as good or better than theG league. Maybe he feels like Kofi and it's worth a shot. I'd go were I'm likely make the most cash. If Nance is gets feedback that he will be drafted then that's the NBA . If not then it may be CU depending on what we can offer him.

Why is it a longshot he comes back to college then? I feel like a 2nd round guarantee is a pipe dream. He didn't even get a Combine invite
It only takes one team to like what they see in him. With it being the second round, it's not that bold of decision.

These boys believe

NC may move to get someone on campus as soon as the dead period ends this Saturday.
Mayer is a primary target
Mayer would not be a lock starter, open competition.
Nance would not start at the 5 at NC. seems unlikely to come back to college.
Baldwin Jr. coming off bad season, seems unlikely to come back to college. possible first round pick

Has something happened since yesterday morning? From comments yesterday I thought it was looking like Mayer was coming to Illinois?
