I could be mistaken, but I believe we last wore them at Rutgers in December 2020. I don't mind because I don't think they look that good, and we never win in them either.

I wish we had these blues in the rotation instead

It demonstrates the need to recruit multiple lead guard options. A team that started 15-0 finished 19-11 largely because there was only one.

True dat. Not a position where you can just play anyone in, even if he’s a talented player. Evidence Mark Smith in ‘79, Sergio McLean late 90s. This last year, we had to try Plummer and DMW there and it wasn’t pretty.

So all we need to do is just sit our critical/injury-prone players for the game after we play OSU and we're good, right? Or is it for the OSU game?

Not to be rude, but how does this conversation about 1970s-1980s players benefit the recruiting thread?
It helps us understand the significant strides made in the repair of knee injuries. We all feel better about Skyy’s injury having lived through the Lanter years!!!

See, this is exactly why historical digressions within the recruiting thread are crucial.

Lanter was injured at Wisconsin playing in the old Fieldhouse, which to this day still abuts the south end zone of Camp Randall Stadium. Because there's no prospect of the Illini playing there we can chill about both OSU at home and Wisconsin on the road. The lighting is much better at the Kohl Center, they don't have those holes in the roof that let snow into the rafters of the Fieldhouse, etc... I mean, Kohl is a nightmare, of course, but it's no Fieldhouse, which was really akin to the Illini playing in one of the Round Barns on St. Mary's Road.

A few questions: Where did Nance go to high school? I assume that he, like other players in the portal, has an agent. I also assume his agent will be part (NIL) of the recruiting process, probably more so than the NCAA likes? I assume our collective of deep pocketed alums will work with that agent? Any help appreciated; I'm working on an article. Finally, what are our odds with Nance? Would you say 50-50?

He went to Revere high school in Richfield, Ohio and his agent is from Priority Sports which is based in Chicago. As for the odds of getting him, 10-20% maybe and new things would have to play out probably for him to come to Illinois.
