Here's a hot take: Weber was a fantastic X's and O's coach who failed to win at the recruiting game because he wouldn't play it the way needed to be successful. Remember when Derrick Rose and company visited him and his team (brother I think?) asked him, "What can you do for us?" Weber left the room. His integrity was a huge part of his downfall.
Weber's poor recruiting decisions had a lot to do with it. I am not going to mention names, but he did not pursue or slow played kids that would have come and who played well elsewhere. Meanwhile, he prioritized prospects he had no realistic chance of landing.

Hes a grad transfer so no waiver needed
I believe they changed that rule along with the new transfer rule changes last year. Grad transfers are now treated the same as any other transfer (I think).

What the hell does he mean by sometimes all you need is the opportunity??? He had all the opportunity in the world to excel here as a tenth year senior and more times than not he disappeared in big games!!!! We gave him the opportunity to play on the big stage and this is the thanks that we get!! Goodbye and good riddance.
OUCH!

Not seeing how you're offended. Players move around these days. Get used to it.

He was a very solid player for us. Sucked that his last few games were with a injured shoulder. But he gave us two solid years which was really all we expected when we signed him.

CG was/is nothing but class. A very intelligent, well spoken, respectful young man.
Unless there is a direct matchup between the Beloved and Duke, I will be rooting for CG.
CG, you will be missed, but Duke is an excellent school. Best of luck and thanks for your contributions.

Am assuming this is the French big that was alluded to earlier (I'm smart, lol). Interesting, tell me more.

Lol. Jake gave us a great boost when we needed help. I'm gonna go out a limb and say this was a respectful mutual departure. Oh and he didn't go to a rival he went to one of the best programs of the past 40 years. Exhale everyone, he didn't burn his Illinois jersey and leave us at the alter.
