I’m not sure where to put this, but the Iowa at Illinois game from 3/6/22 is on BTN right now, just starting the second half…
I know he was hurt most of the year, but if you’re having any angst about turning the page at point guard, watch the last three minutes of this game again. The things Curbelo was trying to do with the ball up by five, under three minutes (biggest game of the year?) are just inexcusable.

Also, we won the Big Ten… which was cool to watch… thanks chiefini

I remember being underwhelmed by ayo numbers in similar national team. Good amount of playing time but numbers were flat. Robert's recap says it much better than I do. Based on how the Ayo results played out, I feel great about TY and his illini future. Fortunately (or unfortunately for Ty) the roster doesn’t force Ty into heavy minutes this year. IMO coach might keep him on the floor longer based on results and intangibles

Good problem to figure out
I remember it was mentioned Ayo had a plan going into player evaluation. Most players were going to try to score. Ayo focused on defense/reb/little things to make team. It worked. Sounds like Ty did these things as well.

I’d say if that’s right that it arguably didn’t work.

Not sure. He must've found and removed his player tracking beacon.

We have not 1, but 2 elites for Mayer's defense!

Jokes aside, this team, on paper, is awesome defensively. TSJ, Mayer, Hawkins are long athletic proven defenders. RJ should be solid on that end. Sky and Dain are ?'s and Rodgers can defend day 1.

Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, haha. Hashtag positionless basketball something something.

Underwood: "They can all handle the basketball. Dain Dainja might be our best ball handler."

Uh Oh Omg GIF by ESPN
I'll chime in again, and suggest that:

1. Underwood is the king of hyperbole.
2. Dainja is likely a very good ball-handler when compared to most big men, but I highly doubt he would be considered a great ball-handler if he were actually a guard.
