Skyy, Mayer, TSJ, and Dainja are all going to play and no one can argue that.
I would be shocked if Hawkins is not in the rotation solely because of his defense.
RJ is oozing potential and would be dumb not to give significant minutes.
Goode is that 3 point shooter that is going to demand some minutes but that's not guaranteed.
Epps will play out of necessity to give Skyy a breather. (he is also very talented)
Rodgers defensive IQ will get him on the floor but probably in sheltered/garbage minutes.
Harris will see a few minutes a game.

I mostly agree with this but I feel like by the end of the season, Rodgers will be the first wing off of the bench, replacing Goode.

Rodgers number is way too low - NBA scouts have been buzzing around the coaches. Very possible he's 1-and-done if he shows a jumper.

Actually, it's quite likely that there will be more than a few instances where both Ty and Goode are on the floor at the same time. If Goode is on the floor, you had better have a good help defender with him. If Ty is on the floor, you had better have a stellar shooter with him.

Who are the 5 best defenders on the present team????

I would think it depends who they need to guard or our opponent.

Peremiter defender likely Shannon or Rodgers.

Interior defender vs a big body then Dainja.

A Uber quicker PG like Belo was then hopefully Skyy.

It seems we have some very good defenders but vs certain opponents like Edey or some others we will be overmatched and require a team effort at times.

The coaching staff also said that Omar Payne had a great mid range jumpshot, that Curbelo was getting drafted in 2022, that Austin Hutcherson was the best athlete on the team and gave Ayo fits during practice, the list goes on. I have full confidence in our roster figuring it out and being good next year - this post is not aimed at criticizing anything the staff is doing. It's more to just point out that the staff says a lot of things during the offseason, some of which may be true and many of which may just be preseason hype train

This is what the staff says publicly. 0440 has proven time and again that he knows what the staff actually thinks. Big difference.

I get the sense that Goode will be here 4 years even if he doesn’t play a ton. And at some point I think he probably will play a pretty substantial role. But to think the team will be good enough next year that he probably won’t is kind of mind blowing.
