Illini Golfers in the Pros

Does anybody know why Nick Hardy isn't in the Barbasol field? I think he would be playing every week unless he is hurt.

No injury or anything. Just 5 weeks in a row is a lot for a golfer. The majors feel like 3 weeks together due to the grind. He’ll be back at the Barracuda. His dad told me that this week was a planned week off.

Ok, thanks for the information. That is surprising to me, most the pros who are clawing for the top 125 make the Barbasol a priority. 4 chances left, he dropped three spots to 138.

First round leader Cameron Young was playing in central Illinois this time last year. He was then on the Korn Ferry Tour for their stop in Springfield this same weekend last year. He didn't make the cut in that tournament but still finished high enough in the Korn Ferry Tour standings at the end of the year to get his tour card. He finished 3rd in the PGA Championship earlier this year.

That's amazing info. Thanks for sharing.
It seems to me that what this says is that while there are specific guys who are always there, in every tournament, in any given week none of the 156 entrants can be counted out. What an amazing tour this creates.
