IMO this is a good and reasonable prediction.
If we get only 15 points from the center position this year with the way that the floor will be spaced " Houston We Have A Problem "

Also RE: Braggin' Rights...

The only bowl game that day (from what I can tell) is the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, TX, which pits the American Conference vs. Conference USA. That game is set for 6:30 pm CST on ESPN. So, I am hopeful that our game will be picked up by ESPN2.

It would be a travesty if it's on the SEC Network (it's Mizzou's year to have TV rights) with what is likely to be a ranked Illinois team against a Mizzou program with renewed life.

This should read. Eastern Illinois coach and Lawrenceville High School grad, Marty Simmons, is a high school legend in Illinois. Lawrenceville was a member of the now defunct North Egypt Conference- one of the best Class A conferences in the state at that time.
my high school coach was an assistant coach for that Marty Simmons squad.

Half if not more of Hawks points will take place when he is not in the post/center/"5", so I viewed it more as 10 points from that "position"

For youtube tv customers it won't be much of an issue. ;)

I don't see it as a problem. I think the biggest scorers will be Shannon and Melendez. And Clark and Skyy are scoring PGs that will get theirs. If Hawk and/or Dain end up as primary scoring options I won't complain. But it doesn't seem as likely as the others.

I don't care what you say,if DD averages only six points a game we have a problem!! He is too skilled to be held to six a game!! We will have at least three players averaging fifteen points this year

I hope you're right but on a quick scan over the past 50 years of Illini stats, I found only 1 time where this occurred (1988-89).

What? The way the floor will be spaced this year is the reason we don't have to have 15 points from the center position.

Matt Mayer cut the mullet ... Highly disappointing lol ...

Dainja looks the part ... I got to see a little preview of a side-by-side comparison from when he got here until now ... WOW, I hope Fletch posts that one

I think for me I expected Skyy, Ty, and Epps to all be ready and they look ready ...

The biggest surprise to me is Harris ... He might be the most athletic kid Brad has had and he is so freaking long it's insane and he loves to talk trash and isn't afraid to back it up ... Kinda like Trent in that way ... May not be a major player right away but Harris is gonna be a fan favorite ...

If I had one thing to kinda nitpick ... It would be Hawkins ... I just wish he would take the next step as a leader ... I mean he is the most experienced guy in terms of being at Illinois that we have and he spends a lot of time just clowning around and not being mentally freaking focused ... I know we have been blessed with Trent and Ayo and DMFW but I really thought Coleman would step up and it's just not the case ... Goode, and TJ were probably the most vocal guys ...

I hope Hawkins maintains composure throughout the season. That will be tested for sure.

Was really hoping to hear the opposite about CH after all the drama post season. Still hopeful for him stepping into being a leader but not so sure at this point.
Some guys just aren't that type. He could still be the best player on the team while not being the most vocal. Plenty of older guys on the team that can take on that role.

I am not sold on CH yet. However, IMO, due to his NBA template frame/athletics, his bar to get selected in the 2nd round isn't too high. He just need to defend and hit three pointers, even just spot shooting. I hope he can do that this year. I don't think he will be a good leader because he doesn't have the ability to put the ball in the hole when needed. I hope he can be more vocal on the defense end though.

We have our PG.
I hope he’s working on his 3 off the dribble because being able to create/facilitate is one thing, but when they sag or go under you gotta be able to make them pay.

I probably almost got banned last year for repeating the same thing about Curbelo 100000000 times. But Rodgers needs that in his tool belt too, since it is similarly considered a weakness.

Ty and Belo are two very different kinds of players. While I agree he needs to work on his outside shot, having him shoot off the dribble is definitely not a necessity.
