Rothstein also put BBV as a “key loss” but left out Plummer.

Not sure of the talent of the opponents, he does look to be very mobile for his size and likes to play big.
I like that.

I would say that he is an accomplished shot blocker, again plays big.
Does he have a jump shot? If so, he may fit our new team makeup stressing positional size and the positionless approach.

Still think we got a good one.

The clips say yes, he can shoot it. Has range too. Is he a stone cold deadeye? Nope. But he's got good shooting skills to build on. Excited about his future.

We very well could be a 6-seed that finished third or worse in the Big Ten … when you “reload,” you’ll have a lot of unknowns. But the Big Ten is not impressing me, we are defending champs and the upside for this team seems VERY high. Can’t wait for the season!!
Most pundits think Indiana is the team to beat and only have them ranked around #15 in the preseason. If that holds true, it really isn't very impressive for the Big Ten and it should be wide open.

I do agree a few of those teams had abysmal D. (The Yellow team must have been Spanish. They looked like matadors.)

BUT….
Yes! BIG fan already.
The hops, the hair, the shot vocabulary, the
overall court sense…very very Noice!

About the hair…how kewl would it be if someone could talk that dude into making that blonde stripe orange?
How p-h phat would that be Daddio?

I mean ya know since some of us our mourning the death of the mullet and all…

Don't want to be negative, but if the Big 10 is down this year it will could hurt our post season seeding. Any early season losses will be magnified. Realistically 3 to 4 preseason losses would not be a surprise. Once the team develops continuity they will take off. Just might not show in tournament seeding.

Liked his passing! Aggressive but not ignoring his teammates.

Very true. We need a couple of nice wins in the non-con schedule. If we lose all the big ones and then big10 is down, we won’t be able to move up the rankings.

I feel like a 6 is about the floor for this team if everything reasonable goes wrong (i.e., no ridiculous injuries but the team just doesn't jell).
Took the thoughts right out of my head. I feel like anything lower than a 6 seed would be disappointing.

I for one am just enjoying the mystery at this stage.

We have a bunch of good players and clearly have a high ceiling in theory, and ought to have enough talent and depth not to be a disaster, but it's going to be a radically different team than the one we've seen and it's really impossible to predict, I'm excited to see them in action.

A 6 seed is basically just Shannon and Mayer doing their thing, one more guy stepping up to be solid, and everyone else just being so-so. I agree with others, that is our floor. The ceiling is through the roof, however.
Nah the ceiling is the roof.(/s)

Being a 6 seed boils down to be a borderline top 25 team. I think your assessment is spot on in terms of what needs to happen, but I do think their is a much lower, albeit unlikely, floor.

Without looking into it, this has to be the biggest turnover we’ve had in a long time. I think that’s the main contributing factor to why national guys are hesitant to rank us higher and it’s not like the guys coming in are all 5 star freshmen or 20 ppg P6 scorers.

A 5ish freshmen PG expected to contribute 30ish minutes without a major backup plan, two transfers who played a ton on great P6 squads who have yet to truly break out, a couple returners who have to prove they can be stars, and a former top 100 recruit who’s played about 10 total minutes in college. The bench consists of underclassmen who, while some were highly rated, are mostly also unproven.

Outsider perspective is obviously going to knock us down a few pegs for those reason. I trust in Underwood to limit all of those negatives about as well as any coach in the nation so I’m with the collective that we will exceed preseason expectations.
