Any word on Pearl? He was missed last Friday.
Someone said he tried to warm up but couldn’t go on Friday. Then was in a boot the rest of the night. I think with a week of treatment he’s likely to play this week unless they determine his injury is more severe than they thought. Probably won’t know anything until late in the week or even game time.

Note to football staff: If you get stuffed running up the middle 3 times with 1st and goal from the 2 yard line, for jeezus sake kick the field goal on 4th down.
Offensive line better see video of that series every day this week. And be embarrassed. And take it personally. Was hoping for a lot more from that group this year. Might be a couple years away yet.

Not to dwell, but has anyone heard if the league has officially apologized to Illinois for the blown TD call vs Indiana?

I agree with you that they probably won't say anything this time, but it makes me at least a little happy that they've said something before: https://www.espn.com/ncf/news/2000/0926/779724.html

Sometimes it just helps for others to affirm that you aren't crazy.
I was in the 1st row of the old North end zone bleachers for those 2 blown calls in 2000. I saw them straight on at field level, and i knew both were blown the moment they happened. I've always been curious how i saw them blatantly, but the 7 zebras out there all missed them. That game haunts me to this day. I remember walking out of the stadium on the East side, and i could hear some sort of radio loudspeaker saying there will be a lot of disappointed Illini fans when they go and watch the replays. I didn't need any replays. An article like this with an apology from the Bg 10 would be provide sort of closure. The quiet state of the Big 10, and Kevin Warren, disgust me a bit. Transparency goes a long way, but Kevin Warren lacks anything of the sort. A call to the AD isn't good enough. The fan base deserves more.

an "official apology" from the new Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren?

lol don't hold your breath. just look at how he screwed over our bball team in 2021 when they should have at least been awarded co champions of the Big Ten)

I didn't think they could find a bigger jerk off than Delaney but alas, they seem to have found one smh.

2021 Maryland game - Illinois had a 97.2% win expectancy early in the 4th quarter and a 95.1% with less than five minutes remaining.
2021 Purdue game - Illinois had a 68.2% win expectancy early in the 4th quarter.
2021 Rutgers game - Illinois had a 66.5% win expectancy at the start of the 4th quarter.

I can understand the argument that the Purdue and Rutgers games were still very contentious but you cannot explain away the Maryland game. Complete meltdown. All of the talk about UTSA game being the difference for a bowl game when it really was the last five minutes of Maryland.
I totally agree. I attended the Maryland game last year and the last 5 minutes were a great example of a team desperately trying "not to lose". Between the 4th down meaningless punt and BP literally freezing under pressure, it was hard to watch. Meanwhile, Maryland played with poise and confidence knowing they could win. On the UTSA game, I thought UTSA was just the better team. We had our chances but the Road Runners just out executed us the entire game. Hell, I believe they went on to win 11 or 12 games last season. Hopefully, Lunney can teach up our young men to be winners.

... We didn't throw games away like that last year...

... we didn't beat ourselves with repeated on-field mistakes like that once...
I understand your niche on this forum is "If someone makes Point A, I'll go out of my way to make Point B instead", but there's no way you can actually believe either of these two comments, right?

In fact, I'd argue the Maryland game last year was hands down a more complete implosion than this past Friday's game due to both coaching mistakes (throwing the game away) and on field mistakes.

And this doesn't even count three or four other games last year that weren't as complete meltdowns as the Maryland game, but were also pretty ridiculous throw aways...

Sorry for going off subject, but I didn't know where to post this question. Does anybody havea guess at the game time for Iowa game? Or is it expected we will not know until that week? Thanks for any help. Trying to make plans.

Too soon to know at this point. Usually those game times aren't known for at least a week or two before the game itself.

Michigan at Indiana is the only Saturday B1G game that week with a confirmed kickoff time of 11:00 AM.

Nebraska-Rutgers is the Friday night game that week with the other Saturday games including Ohio State-Michigan State, Wisconsin-Northwestern, and Purdue-Maryland.

Ahhhh Illinois football. Do fans of other teams argue about which losses were worse implosions?

I was checking on another game this fall, and the Illini Ticket rep told me the game time is not required to be set until 10 days before the game.
