Illinois still has a couple of offers out to a few Florida WRs. Not sure where we stand with them but along the lines of non-rated guys that will likely be 3 star guys once they commit somewhere. There are some other receivers they have contact with but not sold on them getting a scholarship at this time.

I am not worried about the WR position right now. Depends in the off season if guys would transfer/leave that would get me alarmed a bit. Definitely have a number of young receivers on this roster learning the system and adding weight/muscle. Unfortunate Shawn Miller is out for the season. Besides Miller, they also added three other 3 star WRs in the 2022 class in Beatty, Pugh and Hollins. Pretty sure we have 8-10 FR/Redshirt receivers on this roster besides the guys people have heard of in IW, Bryant, Hightower, Washington. Illinois will just bring in another WR or two through the portal at the end of this season if need be.
Thanks for the information. I will hold off on fears and worries for next year. To see how the current guys progress, and how the new guys look.

Hopefully we don't lose any major players.

If anything just hope the injury front stays low this year at all spots. We have talent on this team but get thin quick at spots. Same time if DeVito, Brown or IW go down that really does change the dynamic of the offense. I get the concern for WR and random positions on this team. Best case scenario is we have IW, Bryant and a slew of other guys in the system for next season. IW is dynamic with the ball in his hands....same time he will need to stop some of the routine drops/bobbles if thinking about going to the next level. I don't mind him sticking around longer :D

I really like Pat Bryant. I would love to see the ball in his hands more. Game strategy/playcalling changes by opponent and personnel. Keep IW and Bryant healthy this season for WR corp and we are solid. Know some were calling for more Tight End usage at times and they tore it up last week. All about using your strengths and the opponents weaknesses. The staff must have found something watching Virginia tape because they got exploited. This week and next few weeks are perfect time to get healthy, beat Chattanooga and extend the offense/defense playbook in time for the meat of Big Ten play.

I am more of an optimist when it comes to BB and this regime. They practice what they preach and it shows on the field. Feel like this should be year 3 of him being here instead of year 2 the progress the team has made.

This is great.

I will add…competent QB play. Scheme to get receivers open/the ball. I think scheme is in place. If devito comes back next year, or say able to get a well regarded qb early in portal, will be more enticing to wr I would think.

Watched Neuqua Valley destroy Naperville North tonight 29-16. Neuqua played their backup QB and backup running back due to injuries. Naperville North has Northwestern-bound quarterback Aidan Gray, Illinois-bound kicker David Olano, and junior receiver Luke Williams who has nine offers include three from the Big Ten. Olano missed his first extra-point. However, he boomed his kickoffs. Glad Gray is going to NW. He was ineffective.

Illini should watch Kanye Tyler at Pekin. Explosive edge runner that has the speed to take it to the house. Has instincts on defense that can’t be taught. Fearless athlete and has been offered by ISU. Don’t sleep on him. Think Sherrick McManus from Peoria Richwoods. Remember how long he ended up in the NFL?

ISU is not the same as ISU. Can you be more specific.

Those two JUCO offers are interesting. Still feeling shaky about the OL room in the immediate future, or emboldened that they hit on Crisler and Adams the last cycle?
