My guess for his ranking drop is:
1. His height. Not sure how tall he was last year, but the rankings could have been projecting he might grow another inch or two. (obviously still not done growing yet)
2. His foot injury.

His foot injury was between his Freshman and Sophomore years.
Here are his last Summer AAU #'s

his defense is NOT stellar either!

But maybe they can "coach him up!"
He's just not built right for how they have been recruiting and how the "rough a
and tumble" Big10 plays...IMHO

I am completely tired of this "rough and tumble" B1G nonsense. The last time a B1G team won the championship (while an actual member) was Michigan State in 2000. Maybe it's time to be recruiting people who can run literal circles around people like Zach Edey.

I hear you my man. Me personally, if Big10 ball is on, I want that “rough and tumble” injected into my veins. For the past 3 years I cheered for the biggest baddest rough n tumbler in all the land. Houston also rough and tumbled their way into an elite 8. I think there’s enough insane parity in college ball for that style to work.

I don't hate it, but I am also tired of watching B1G teams (including ours) get run out of the gym on the national stage. I think the key with Houston is that they are more than just rough and tumble. They play that way more so on D but I wouldn't describe their offense that way. It's fast.

The difference in refereeing in the tournament makes a big difference. Bumps that wouldn't get a second glance in a BiG game get players into early foul trouble in the tourney. The rough reputation of the BiG doesn't help. People see (and call) what they expect to see. It is a cost for being the outlier.

Here are DGL's late Spring and Summer stats. Nothing on these stats. screams "got to have him". As I pointed out before his 25% 3pt shooting is a concern.
Hearing from Purdue people his Mom wants a starting guarantee. That can never be good.

I'm not sure what you are looking at but his 3P% from those games 31.5%. And these are actually great stats, 79th percentile in TS%, 89th percentile in AST%, 88th percentile in STL%, on 99th percentile in Usage is fantastic. Plus he shot 91% from the line and I believe EYBL avg 3P% is only around 28-29% and he shot 31.5% on massive per possession volume.

I'm confused as to where you're getting 25% and 40%... in the stat sheet you just included his splits are 53.8/31.5/91.1

Some of you are not following this thread very well. It was originally stated that DGL had a very good Spring AAU season (April) and that was true based on his All EYBL at one event. My statement was "he didn't have a very good Summer AAU (season started on 5/28). My source for that statement is also a very good talent evaluator and attends many AAU events. If you use his Summer stats (5/28 on)) you get the 25 and 40 % numbers. Just trying to use some facts as to why maybe his rankings may have dropped. Haha, now flame away.

Indy, where are you? You saw this kid numerous times and he is in your state, please jump in here and give us your take. Was he at PJ, don't remember seeing his name. Thanks in advance. :)

Stats be damned - I see a gritty player with a lot of ways to effect the game. Whatever his true height, he can jump over a kid his size to dunk, so I don’t think athleticism is a problem either. I’d love to land this kid. Open up Indiana to recruiting a little more each year.

Coach said Frazier couldn't guard anybody when he got here. We have a " coach" now. He can be taught these things and coach has proved that if you do not want to imrove on that side of the ball you will watch or transfer.

Are there questions about DGL? Sure. But PG is, by far, our biggest position of need (assuming Perrin's good to go, which I do). The talent is there. Concerns about D are overblown with Underwood at the helm. A Skky-Dra tandem at point next season sounds pretty good to me. Should Skyy be gone, Dra would help fill a big hole.

I def wouldn't believe anything Purdue had to say about NOTHING.. They have a coach who uses smear campaigns as a coaching strategy

I have known Dravyn since he was at McCutcheon ... I also know a lot of people tied in with him, especially on the AAU side ... Watched him through EYBL last 2 years ... And was down at Peach Jam watching him this summer ...

Personally, I think his AAU team hurt him more than helped him ... Fears is a ball hog who can't shoot ... Kaleb Glenn was far and away the best player on the team. He took his fair share of shots as well so that left Dravyn in the 3rd spot and once Fears got done spending 20 seconds attempting to break down his defender and picked up his dribble the offense was broken. The shots Dravyn got weren't that great ... When they were running the offense through Dravyn and Kaleb in the first few events, it looked a lot better IMO ...

All that being said ... If the kid buys in then he will be a good player ... But he has to be okay with playing a role and ignore everyone telling him he's going to be a one and done ... Montverde will help him with that this year ...

There are also some concerns surrounding the family and Dad being a mini Lavar Ball ... Those rumors were coming from Purdue because Purdue didn't want to give hardly any NIL ... Dad wasn't happy and said what's the deal with this, this ain't what we talked about ? ... Purdue people twisted the story to make them look better ...

Dad & TA have known each other for quite a while ... They trust TA ... Dravyn trusts TA ... Which is a major factor
