Serious question: why the shade for Woodcock?

Non-serious guess: I did a little digging and discovered that this famous incident unfolded differently than people remember. If you squint, you can see the words "by Rees Woodcock, special to the Tribune" in the byline.

He's a poor writer and regularly has poor takes (or worse) about the team. That said, he's gotten better (but that's not saying much).

Given an infinite amount of time Rees may improve to the point of being read with merely mild disdain, just in time for Chester Frazier XII's Freshman season, if my calculations are correct.

He really is a poor writer. And I agree on the poor takes as well as often supplying very little real info. But what I really find annoying are his Lets [sic] Goooooooooo!!!!!!!!! tweets.

There are of course levels to that. There are many dumb things we can do that don't put other people directly in danger.

One night we decided we needed a Christmas tree, We searched a 4 block radius until we found a perfect specimen in a backyard
We each took turns sawing it down, not attending to the fact that had started to show rather heavily
We dragged the tree back to the house, but did not realize we had left a perfect trail in the snow for the agents of institutionalized social control to follow
Would putting Christmas trees directly in danger count?

So you sawed down your neighbors tree....how old and how drunk were you when you tried this social experiment...?
