I do not have a problem with price fluctuations or declines for less desirable seats. I bought tickets weeks ago at full price, and I do not care if the person next to me spent less. At the end of the day, I want a good game day experience with as many people as possible - that adds to the value of my ticket. With buying early, I was purchasing certainty with regard to availability and seat selection. This is not different than flying on an airplane - I don’t care that the person sitting next to me got their ticket for less through some last minute discount.
I’m guessing most fans such as yourself who purchased tickets weeks ago feel the same way as you. It’s the more casual fans who decided to purchase 2 tickets this Monday and now see they could get 4 tickets for less than they paid for their two who might be pissed. And I can see their point to an extent. But who said life is fair, and hopefully the enhanced atmosphere of having a sold out or near sold out stadium makes up for it.

Beat them Hawkeyes.

Looks like they’re still giving out good deals despite the high ticket prices… I think I might have to take them up on this offer!

This^. + BB strikes me as having more staying power as White had a sketchy past at Cal, which repeated itself in Champaign.

After the Wisc win, Minnesota felt to me like the most important game of the season for us so far. (1) because they have a stiff defense; (2) more importantly, because they have a talented QB whose throwing will truly test our secondary for the first time, and a star RB to make that passing game a real threat (if he gets healthy.) If we beat MN, or even are in a toss-up game with them late, I'll become a true believer in this year's team's ability to compete with strong teams.

Regardless of what happens v. MN, I feel very good about where BB is taking us.
Except…weren’t we told how Virginia’s star quarterback and receiver(s) ripped us a new one last year—and certainly didn’t this year. And we heard that kind of thing a lot before all of our games it seems. I don’t know. I guess we’ll find out Saturday.

I went "looking for tickets" just to see what's available. Stub hub said they had 500+ tickets left but that they were going fast, something I hadn't seen before for any event. The university box office had most of the side main and balcony sections either limited to a handful of singles in midfield sections and more seats towards the ends, and only seats in the horseshoe were more available. Unless there are people who have tickets but aren't coming, it's going to be a full stadium. I sure hope the players get to see that when they run out of the tunnel.

And get there early. This a new era (I hope) of Illinois football fandom.

What is it with the fixation with Kansas? They’re 2 states away and in a different conference. Is it just because they used to be bad and now have seemingly turned the corner like the Illini? Not sure that warrants the other comparisons. But I’ve seen Kansas mentioned more in this thread than combined in 3 thread drifts about Bill Self leaving in the basketball topic section.

Its very relevant to note, if they can do it, why can't / don't we?

Im happy for Kansas. I dont like the school really, but Im happy for Liepold and happy they have finally made a good choice for coach.

Les Miles getting fired for cause was the best thing that happened to them since Mangino was fired and stopped eating at the training table .

We'd be favored over them on a neutral field right now. Only by a couple points, but we would be. Just to keep the situation in some perspective.

Maybe they wind up better than us, maybe they don't, but it's a fun story in college football for the moment.

Here's hoping we're the fun cinderella story soon enough.

KU could easily go 0-7 in their next 7 games . They could be the current version of the 2011 Illini
