Do not worry Air Force got hit for recruiting violations. NCAA is a joke punish the minor things but the obvious things that tarnish the game go unpunished
Air Force does not have scholarship players. No one pays at Air Force other than a 5 year graduation commitment. Not sure what a recruiting violation is for Air Force other than too many or wrong timed visits or contact with Academy coaches. All potential cadets are normally contacted by liaison officers. I believe the athletic department is sensitive that liaison officers do not contact recruited athletes because it could go against the number and timing of contacts which would restrict the contact by the athletic department or result in a violation. That'll teach 'em! Reducing the squad size from 110 to 100 will only mean that 10 guys per year won't be able to say they played football at Air Force. It won't affect scholarship players at all.
- "A reduction of the football squad size by 10 for four years, starting with the 2022-23 academic year."
The show cause orders may be more interesting, though. Guys could be losing their jobs.
I graduated from Air Force. While I didn’t pay money, I definitely paid for that education.Good point. I forgot about the free education there. When I worked in college admissions, we usually had one person in the office who was the athletic liaison, just to avoid what you described. Typically, the liaison was there only to ensure that the athletes were submitting their documents on time, and met admission standards. It also gave parents one point of contact in admissions to get the specific information they needed.
Likewise. When I attended it was sometimes referred to as a $50,000 education rammed down your throat a nickel at a time.I graduated from Air Force. While I didn’t pay money, I definitely paid for that education.![]()
Or altenatively,Ideal orchestration...A&M way
1. Jimbo Fisher gets his recruiting target list and starts his calls to recruits...NO NIL references in his pitch to recruits.
2. Jimbo releases his recruiting target list to his A&M cashbox NIL group.
3. A&M NIL group independently reaches out to A&M recruit targets with handsome offers
4. A&M lands the #1 recruiting class
A&M staff never "enticed"...
Very true. Bad choice of words on my part.I graduated from Air Force. While I didn’t pay money, I definitely paid for that education.![]()
