Big bummer. Goode was (and still is) going to be a big piece off the bench on defense + one of the few proven shooters. Big opportunity for Ty to earn even more minutes than we expected early in the year. Feels like we’ve had more than our fair share of injuries the past 12 months… really need this to be the last one. It’s crazy how one injury takes us from “we’re so deep, how are guys getting minutes” to “our rotation off the bench is realistically Ty, Dain and Epps, none of which have any collegiate experience.” Hoping he’ll be back for most of conference play.

Well crap I didn't expect Luke to start, but I did see him coming off the bench early adding a scoring spark. He was also sound on defense too. Get well soon and hopefully he'll contribute 2nd half of the B10 season. If not, I'd love to see him redshirt and come back next year.

No timetable for return usually means it's pretty bad. Feel bad for him --he's a different player than I think anyone else on the roster. Great size/length in a sharp-shooter. Hope he's able to get back to full strength whenever that may be.

Not only is this disappointing news but more importantly it takes away a very dependable part of the puzzle. LG is, to me, the most fit to contribute plus minutes in B1G play on both ends of the court. Great shooter and warrior tough with a high BB IQ who does the little things that never show on the stat sheet but add up to a big W and not a close L. Hope he can bet back in 3 months and give this team a big lift. This is the first big setback in player availability that no one can predict but that we all know (or should know) is inevitable. Let us hope that the depth of talent on this roster will pay off and his return will be what we hope to see.

I wouldn’t say it’s ideal to not have an exact time he should be available, but given that feet are very complicated internally and that it’s probably known he’s not doing any basketball related drills until December at the earliest, if the team said he had an 8 week recovery time and he somehow didn’t play a game until February it would lead to a lot more speculation.

Also, never a bad idea to leave stuff like this a mystery. As a fan I’d love to know the exact date every player is going to return, but if come mid January he may or may not play it makes the opponent at least spend sometime scouting for him.

Dang. This sucks. Right when the hype over the upcoming season is reaching its fever pitch too. It's easy to forget, for all of RJ's talent, that BU turned to Goode more often than RJ throughout last season. What he brings to the table is greater than the sum of his basketball skills, particularly in the leadership space, though he can still do the latter on the bench. I know we have the depth to withstand this loss, but it does make me nervous about another untimely injury. We have less room for error now and need the rest of our guys to stay healthy and contribute at a high level from the jump.

This is a bummer. I saw Goode serving an important role as a ship-steadyer that could be plugged into multiple spots when the seas got a little choppy from the inevitable growing pains we'll face early in the season.

Silver lining is that his position is one in which we are very deep.

Get well soon LG.

Well, maybe he'll be good in time for full B10 play. Shouldn't hurt too bad as long as he gets back in time for the important games.

Get well, but don't rush it. Foot injuries are sometimes difficult to recover quickly and rush it. This is where we miss Podz.

Let's not start this crap again this season. I was hoping for good luck to be infused into our program after all the bad luck last year. I guess not season ending can be looked at as good luck.

No kidding. Last year we had five years’ worth of injuries. I was was hoping w the law of averages, we’d swing the other way and be healthy this year.

We ain’t that deep - we are down to 10 scholarship players and TSJ and Mayer have dealt w back problems for a while now.
