I can live with this injury. I know some of our fellow posters who also screamed about letting Podz leave will freak out from this news, but this allows for Ty to get much more tick and then add Goode into the rotation in the latter half of conference play.

Rodgers has earned good tick, regardless of Goode's injury. What Goode brings is elite sharpshooting. We have other VG shooters, but this sucks.

This is unfortunate. The goal is to win games, not make sure freshmen get tick so they're happy to stick around for next year. Goode is one of our few proven 3 point shooters.

On the bright side, a few younger guys can get rep and Goode will be back later in the year so we'll have some more options. Regardless, Id prefer to have Goode healthy now than later.

smash GIF

Goode tweeted that it will be the first half of the season.

I was looking forward to seeing his progress this year. Bummer.

Edit: Dan beat me to it. It took me a while to find a gif of someone slamming their head into their computer. 😆

Goode was showing out in practice: rebounding, defense, and great shooting. This is huge disappointing news. We're talking about a January return if any at all. Foot injuries for ballers are hard to heal an sometimes career ending. I sure wish Luke a speedy and 💯 % recovery. Great culture teammate and leader.

Damn, that’s a bummer. More so for him obviously. I’ll be hoping for a successful surgery and a quick recovery. Get well quickly, Luke.

Hate to hear this...............Luke has been a great Illini since he committed while still in HS.........I'm hoping for a complete recovery and joining the squad on the court asap..........

We went through the injury dilemma last year so it's not new to us , but I'm glad we have the depth to carry on while Luke recovers ......he seems like such a positive thinking person and will be chomping at the bit to show off his shooting expertise later this season.....

Get well quick Luke...................

It is unfortunate, but unavoidable that injuries can and do happen. This will likely give a Freshmen more of a chance to earn some minutes while Goode heals up and is hopefully back up to speed for what will hopefully be an impactful postseason

Good thing Illinois has that new aquatic therapy/recovery room (or whatever it is called) at Ubben. With all that state of the art therapy and recovery technology maybe it won't take so long to recover.
