We do have someone he's just hurt. Griffin regularly hits his kickoffs for touch backs with no problems. As great as Pinton has been he does not have good leg strength which leads to the short kickoffs and also the staff going for fourth downs in situations where they might have tried a long field goal. His long is only 37 and he hasn't even attempted past that whereas Griffin's long is 48.
4 years ago, he hit a 55 yard game winner at the buzzer to send The Woodlands to Round 3.

I like all of the optimism here. Nice to be in FIRST place and not last. If we can pull it out against Nebby, those game day discussions will get louder. I am anxious to see how we play with a target on our backs. We are now the team to BEAT in the West! Go Illini!

GOD, the hotel situation in Indianapolis is awful for the Big Ten Championship Game weekend. I'm going to book a free cancellation hotel and hope that a bunch of Michigan or OSU fans drop their rooms when one of them loses to the other later this season, and Illini fans can pounce - assuming we can win the West, of course.

My sister picked the wrong year to move from Indianapolis!

Dunno man, Northwestern winning 3 straight would be truly shocking to me.
Sure, three straight, but no individual game result would be shocking, for NW or others. Probably not an underdog win >14 point spread on that whole board.

Herbstreit is a straight shooter and I like his analysis on most things college football.

Keep taking care of business.....

Pretty favorable conference schedule this season and with what is left. At Nebraska, home vs Purdue and Michigan St, at Michigan and at Northwestern. I don't like to look past one game at a time but I am not making any excuses if we don't win the West Division this season (barring any serious injuries)

My initial thoughts:

1. He is correct.
2. He looks so bad now they needed to use a 12-year-old picture in the article?
3. Including his redshirt, he was at tOSU from 1988-1992. From fightingillini.com, his tenure coincides with our best-ever extended showing vs. the Buckeyes. Thanks Kirk.

correct , Kirkie was never on a tO$U roster that ever beat the Illini

and Kirkie is correct - we were totally irrelevant in football for about the past 15 years
