Hi Ari! j/k

Your post is exactly the sort of media regurgitation I was describing, and it makes you about as credible as the sports journalist in question. He made the claim that Illinois has MAC-level talent. Does this guy have a reputation for having an eye for talent? Any professional experience on the college recruiting trail? Does he document his own talent evaluations? Has he visited practices for either team? No, no he hasn't. He read the same 247 talent composite that you cited in your anonymous internet post. I can read all about the performance of the new Ferrari 812 GTS online and then give you my recommendation about it. That's what you're getting here.

No, but 100+ D1 head coaches have an eye for talent and if many of our players weren't offered by other P5 schools, that says something about their perceived talent level while in high school. No team with a 247 talent composite of lower than 13 has ever won a playoff game.

It's not the be-all end-all but it certainly is the best summary of a team's talent level available to anyone.

I'm not sure why you're so butthurt by this guy.

Question: will the offense look significantly different once Lunney has 'his guy' at QB?

I'm just an unfrozen caveman lawyer, but is there a QB that can be more Lunney's 'guy' than Tommy D? He seems perfectly designed to run Lunney's offense.

Totally agreed and maybe that is the right answer but with DeVito commiting prior to Lunneys hire, wondering to what extent (if any) the offense has been tailored to what he has (which has been a smashing success given the circumstances)

If the offense looks different next year, I think it will be because we don’t have a Heisman candidate running the ball 30-40 carries per game. We will be solid, but Chase will be very hard to replace.

This isn't an apples to apples comparison but Charles Barkley was on a podcast and just mentioned that NBA teams below .500 shouldn't be allowed to raise ticket prices. I know that isn't directly applicable to college football but I thought some people might get a chuckle with all the ticket pricing discussions we've had on here.

Could Chase and Sydney Brown be the next Tiki and Ronde Barber in the NFL? It just occurred to me that they were twins, one on offense, one on defense, just like Chase and Sydney. The sky is the limit for them, and I wish them so much happiness and success.
