Nebraska has been playing better but they really haven't beaten one good team. They are probably the most frisky team we have faced, but I highly doubt they are the best team out of Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. I trust Coach to have gotten everyone ready over the BYE. We get our thunder-RB back. Everyone else is a week healthier. Lets go out and win by double digits!

My nightmare was that we lose this game, then lose to MSU on a freak play, then confidence crumbles and we end up at 6-5 going to Northwestern. Yikes.

I don't want to talk about it.

Lets just win this one.

I can 100% understand this sentiment but trust me when I say if Illinois defeats Nebraska, the demands for "just win this one" the following week (and the following week) will only magnify.

I have been analyzing the analytics that I trust numerous times this morning and I will be doing further intense research with said trusted analytics for the rest of the day........I can say with no doubt in my mind that the analytics I am now using are the best , most in depth and mentally satisfying analytics that I have used in a long time..........

I have a dilemma and you know where that pushes my fragile mind to.........Ponder-ritis wandering's.........I have found that I can multi-task in my pondering wandering's , with these new analytics and I really like the brain exercise's that are popping into my skull with every passing heartbeat.........These new analytics also bring me back up to speed after a bye week faster than the old analytics I used lately........

Oops , sorry about that ......The Wandering's sometimes overpowers the Pondering and I slip......I'll admit it , the older I get the more Wanderings I have ..

This is so true. I'm just happy Illinois football matters this late in the season. As fans we rethink everything in our heads. It sucks that on paper we should win 9 out of 10, but there's always that 1 if we have an off day. I have to think that Bret and the boys will have them sky high for this.

50 hours 25 minutes to game time.

Illini football fans are just going to have to get used to being comfortable with success. Yes, after so many years of struggling and adding to the ‘L’ column it takes a while. But success is a mind-set and a fun one. Not arrogance... not taking things for granted... not disrespecting opponents... just getting used to being GOOD and liking it. Like Illini basketball already is.

As for respect... the Illini footballers are already gaining respect from opposing Coaches. But not yet from the fan bases of Illini opponents. This game against the Big Red is a respect game as well as one that is important in the standings. The Illini are not yet respected by the Nebraska fan base. This is not a knock on them but to point out that the Illini have not yet earned that respect in their eyes.

An Illini win at Lincoln just might go a long way to settling that argument. Husker fans respect good football and they usually stand and applaud opponents as they leave the field at the end of the game.

Nebraska is playing to raise their self-respect. And the Illini are playing to gain additional respect.

And why do I keep hearing Aretha Franklin in my head right now?

The Iowa game was our snakebit game.

Isiah Williams 3 fumbles
-- Q1 fumbled on Iowa 35 but recovered fumble. Illini punt
-- Q2 fumbled pass reception on Illinois 14 recovered by Iowa - led to Iowa FG.
--Q2 fumble punt in Illini territory

Art 3rd down fumble returned for TD (called back after review)
Art 2nd down interception on Iowa 4 - should have gotten TD or at least FG

So 5 possible turnovers 4 actual. Swing of 12 to 35 points. We should have won 21-6 or 44-6. We were clearly superior team even with Tommy injured.

We survived when everything went wrong. Defense bailed out the offense. That is why I am confident about Nebraska game. 24-7 !

I know the orange koolaid runs deep in my veins right now, but on paper, I don’t see how we don’t win this game by 20+ points. The only thing that may keep it from being a “blowout” is that we like to take 8 minutes per drive…

It just seems that every single weakness Nebraska has plays right into our strengths.
