I updated the ticket tracker. Here's how it breaks down:
West Main: 1,307 unsold tickets (I think Section 123 has not been made available yet because it's been blanked out for the last two weeks)
West Balcony: 243 unsold tickets
Horseshoe: 654 unsold tickets
East Main: 9,841 unsold tickets (Sections 103 and 109 never made available, but there are certainly some tickets sold here as the player family and visiting team sections, respectively. At least the top 20 rows of every section are unsold)
East Balcony: 5,606 unsold tickets

Assuming a sold-out student section (unlikely), we'd be looking at a paid attendance of 43,019 as of this afternoon.
75 degrees today in chicago
45 degrees Fri & Sat

timing is everything
our walk up ticket sales on Sat wont amount to squat

Iowa fan here. Illini will beat Purdue. You have a great defense and a good running game. Just don't turn the ball over. The Illini will be motivated and will play hard.

Lot's of Iowa fans rooting for Illinois. We love Bielema and respect what he has done for the Illini, and of course we are sick and tired of the Wisconsin !!!!!!!! from up north.
AGREE with you Iowa Fan!!! Maybe you and I should start attending HAWK vs. CHIEF games every year. You seem like very smart guy-probably a great athlete in your youth too!

Have they announced what time the player walk through GG is on Saturday?
8:30 AM. The Game Day Guide on fightingillini.com is generally available Tues or Weds before a Saturday game.

I lived in a very expensive apt on Chalmers from Jan 87 through Aug 88 and it was also tremendously crappy. Mice and roaches (the crawly kind) in the apartment, rats in the dumpsters. I honestly don't know what my decision making process was on that other than it was a very short crawl home from Kams/COs/R&R/Doc J's and right next door to the Psych building where the majority of my classes were.

My son is coming in for this game from Dallas; very excited for him! But he's not an alum and I haven't been to campus in decades so I have a few questions for this wise forum:

For an 11am start, what you recommend he do prior to the game?
Breakfast place in campustown?

I have him walking down 4th from Green St to the stadium as I remember that to be the path a lot of students take.
Grange grove tailgate is sold out ... any other tailgating places or experiences he should check out?

Does the band do anything before the game?

Also, for nightlife, he wants to experience the Fri/Sat social scene. He's 25 and single so I think he means girls... What are the best bars on campus now for mingling? When I was there it was KAMs and COD on Daniels but I see there's nothing there now.

Thank you! GO ILLINI DEMOLISH PURDUE!!

Cracked on green opens at 8 for breakfast Saturday. Pretty good breakfast there. Grange grove is open to the public so you can walk through there and mingle as well as the other lots. As for night life on campus it’s pretty much just Kams now. For downtown I would check out barrelhouse 34, Guidos, or pour bros

He might find out that 25 is a little old for the campus bars. You age out of that scene reaaaal fast.

You can still get into Grange Grove. Sell out simply means that they will not set up an individual tailgate for you inside the fence. You are still welcome to wander through the general grounds, listen to the band, get food, etc.

Yeah probably! He just turned 25 so he wants to sight-see I guess.

I've seen Legends, Murphy's (still the same place?), Red Lion and Joe's (I think?). Any of those decent? Looking for something in Campustown as I see KAMS is on 1st now?

Band marches from east end of the armory down 4th at 10:10 am.

Totally agree with you guys in general ... guess I'm just overly eager to see it change. I have said this before, but I was born in Peoria to two parents who were NIU grads but avid Illini fans their whole lives (as were their parents) for no other reason than ... they were Illinoisans, and the Illini were the state flagship team.
Hi fellow Peorian. I’m a transplant, moving here after graduation in ‘78 for a career with the big yellow company. We see 2-3 games per year, parking on the engineering campus and walking to/from MS through old familiar territory. we’ll be in the East Baloney Saturday.

I wish I could be at the game. Been sick all week. I went Ill State. Three brothers wentUI and were Sammy’s. After my two brothers passed we put the basketball court. Then Covid hit. When I was in town for the Wyoming game saw the frat house is being rebuilt. So if any of you walk by 4th and Armory see the plaque on the house. Go Illini beat Pu.

Just Kams? Have campus bars closed down in favor of going to downtown area? From what I remember that would be an inconvenient journey.

Again, as a non-alum I have a different perspective, but I don’t even bother with Campustown. If one removes the gorgeous campus itself, Downtown is so much better it’s not even funny. So much more “atmosphere,” IMO. Honestly, Guido’s (Downtown) has sort of a “party” atmosphere late at night, and Barrelhouse 34 has a sort of “grad student party” vibe sometimes.

With that said, I’ve never been to Illini Inn, so my wife and I are going there after the game!

don't turn it over and don't get too cute in the redzone and we will win

GO ILLINI!

Maybe it’s just me but it feels like last Sat was ages ago. …. Like, feels like we had a Bye week since then. So much has chnaged, probably mostly with my expectations. I am more focused game to game again. The Neb and MSU games felt different as though we were the likely victors. I don’t feel like that with the remaining schedule. NW looked way more feisty last weekend. Mich is still Meeechigan. Purdue is regrouping after a letdown loss and will be looking for redemption. I think we beat Purdue with a very fundamental, precision cut game. The cold will be our friend. Ground and pound.
