Any information about tonight's opponent? Their roster shows two players from France, two from Spain, one from Hungary and one from Romania, so they cast a wide net. Last year after starting 0-14 they finished their last games 9-6, so either they over-schedule at the beginning of the season or their conference is not very strong. They are pre-season picked at 7 in a 9 team conference.

I remember their coach, Rene Haynes, as a very strong player at Michigan State a few years back. That's all I've got.

Camille Jackson has not entered the game as of the start of the 4th quarter. Is she hurt?

Jackson just entered the game, grabbed a rebound and scored on a putback. I'm surprised she is not getting more playing time.

With all due respect to the previous coach, how great for the women who returned to the team to be able to play for Shauna. Don’t know how many wins WBB will have this year, but I have a good feeling that those women will be able to look back at a worst know they laid the foundation for a lot of good things to come for the program. Hats off to them and all the women on the team.

It will be interesting to see how they play against better competition, but wow they have size and athleticism on this team.
Yeah, I think so too. AND I’m intrigued by
what looks to be some pretty darn solid execution on offense, already.

She said in one of the pressers that they had a lot of stuff in their playbook…that’s awesome! They must pick things up quickly…it’s the first game of the season and we’re seeing multiple sets; which is really really cool and encouraging . I like the transition O and the high 1-4 stuff.

That flex cut on the out of bounds that time was especially nifty. Noice!

It's VERY early days, But Coach Green et al seems a HUGE step up from the previous staff. She certainly has taken charge and emphasizes defense and rebounding even without having her own horses in there. She needs to recruit a long agile front court player to go along with the two new guards.

She appears to have a lot of coach Underwood in her. Now about those high heels on the sideline...!

The 3 minute 10 second clip I saw about the ladies last game gave me more hope about the WBB's path for the future than anything i saw in the previous coaches tenure here.......I realize Fahey was a friend and co-worker with Whitman in the past , but this is college sports and it wasn't nepotism but it was close enough to what lovie did in FB at the detriment of the progress of the team ........A 6-64 conference record by Fahey was embarrassing and required an earlier rejection than what was done...........

I hope SG is finally the answer that we need to raise the WBB program up to the same level as BB and FB......I also realize it will take some time , but that clip sure raised my hopes up higher than it's been since the Grentz days......................

6-5, 2024 recruit from Lincoln Way East.
From a 2021 article:

Hayven Smith (2024 Lincoln-Way East HS): The freshman center uses her size advantage and is constantly dominating on the boards. She is able to position her self and uses great fundamental skills and grabs almost every rebound that comes her way. A freshman to watch moving forward.
