Shout out to the Illini faithful - way to make that arena a House of Paign!!!!
We spent a few bucks to get here. We’ve wasted even more since we got here. There’s Illini fans everywhere and it was worth every single penny to be a part of that last night. Unbelievable. And to think, this team will only get better.
42 was not just feasting on bad competition. 1 is my favorite player. 0 is already a pro.

Danija should start and Hawkins needs to come off the bench. He played tentative and seemed lost on offense. RJ also played tentative. Both are very talented but they need to trust their skills and play with more confidence and fluidity. The freshmen are legit! Great battle!!!
I disagree, ColeHawk takes the other teams center and runs him all over the floor, so when Dain comes in hes fresh, bouncy, and fast as hell on a winded big or not their best big

There are cheap flights from Chicago to Las Vegas, and California Illini are starved for Fighting Illini exposure. It’s not that big of an arena. It’s easy to fill when you have an Illini fan base and alumni like Illinois.
Not to mention, there are a TON of Illini in Phoenix and the rest of AZ, which is a pretty easy drive or flight to Vegas.

The TOs are due to the speed this team plays. It will get better. I like that BU let's them play. I remember at the end of Henson's time he would yank guys for every mistake. I know this will seem blasphemous, but I was ready for Henson to leave. Then I immediately saw how Kruger would "talk" to his guys during breaks or when there were free throws. I saw the team respond well to that. BU certainly gets on his guys, but he doesn't humiliate them by benching.

Everyone contributed tonight. 9 deep and Goode is in the bullpen. I think we have legit 6 players thank can go off on any given night for 25 pts. If everyone contributeS 7pt., 8pts, 5pt., 12 pts, etc.. coupled with the defense and steals and depth. Just Wow, gonna being heart pounding season. My goodness brothers and sisters we Lost 85% of our scoring and rebounding!
I told my wife last night while watching the game that I knew this team was talented but my o my the toughness and togetherness they are displaying is crazy. I think they all actually get the big picture that it isnt about anyones particular contribution it is all about the team and winning. I bitched at Coleman the entire first half and he is by far my wife and I's favorite player but that guy played his heart out last night..

You could not be more wrong about Coleman. Yes he is hesitant at times to shoot, drive and pass. but his defense, ability to hit open guys, rebound and make the man guarding him run all over the court is his job and he does it very well.. We have been use to Kofi who clogged the middle which did not allow others to drive to the basket.. Coleman helps open the lane for TSJ and others

I’m not proud to have to ask this, but…

Is there a way to watch this in replay after failing to record it or watch it live?

Was a long day yesterday. :/
It is posted in replays section on ESPN app. As long as you have cable/internet TV package, etc., which includes ESPNU, it will be available there. I actually played the replay as my nightlight to fall asleep last night (they had replay ready within minutes of game ending).

Hawk was definitely pass-first tonight, led the team in assists and defended well. Tentative on the shot but contributed positively. He doesn't have to be the #1 scoring option for the team to do well, is really the takeaway from tonight.
No, tonight he was “unconvincing shot fake first, pass second.” Needs to just take those. Has proven he can make ‘em.

CoHawk is literally the spark plug that starts the illini engine running offensive and defensively. He literally ignites alot of what we do on both ends, lot of actions offensive and defensively run because of him. I think he understands his role this year, and it is big. Not all about how many points,... yes, I do not want him passing up open looks, but it is the other 95% of his game that gets this illini engine running.

The last 5 mins or so of game time the announcers said something like “Give UCLA credit for hanging around and withstanding this run by Illinois. They are still in this and have a chance..”

I told my wife, they literally should have said the opposite! Give Illinois the credit! We were down 15 and could have given up! We hung around and took that game!

I initially felt CH was way sped up, made some bad passes, had some bad TOs.
At one point, I thought 'oh man, I guess we're getting bad CH this game'

BUT- I'll take his final stat line any day!
5 pts (2-3fg, 1-2ft), 5reb, 7 ast, 2st, 2 bl.

Great, great effort

(Leaving off TOs cause everyone was a bit loose🙂)
